  1. Roto for baseball, head to head for football.
  2. Wow, it take real balls to ask Ray Lewis how long he's been surrounded by thugs.
  3. He was forced into retirement because of frequent concussions. I believe he sued the Bears for that, because after his last one, his brain had been damaged to the point where he was unable to read. He had to re-learn how to read. They told him to get back onto the field 1 or 2 weeks after a major concussion I think, and he got another one. I'm not sure if that's exactly how it happened, perhaps someone can elaborate more with the real news. I know he was also diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma back in 2003. But after treatment, he is now cancer free.
  4. "Well....it's a little like a mop and a little like a puppet but oh boy. Does that answer your question?" One of my favorite Simpsons quotes ever. It actually goes. Dad, whats a muppet? Well, its a little like a mop, and a little like a puppet, but boy oh boy [chuckle] so to answer your question, I don't know. I actually thought it was, "well it's not quite a mop, and it's not quite a puppet..."

  6. It's funny, cause you just know all the players go back and talk about the stupidest question they were asked, and the reporters all go back and talk about the stupidest response they got.
  7. I see your point, but you can beat yourself in tennis as well. If Federer is hitting the ball into the net, or is long on his shots, he's beating himself. The difference in the two sports is that in tennis, someone can force you to make errors. Golf, it's all on you.
  8. There's a difference between working out for a team and signing a contract with them. I know he agreed in principle, but the deal was finalized today. These threads probably should be merged though.
  9. Sosa signed to minor league contract Per ESPN: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2747498
  10. If you analyze that Video it wasn't Wrigley. You don't even really need to analyze it that much. It's clearly not Wrigley.
  11. There are two sides to that argument though. You say that Tiger's opponents are more talented and there isn't as big of a gap between Tiger and the field and use that to say Tiger is better. You say that until an opponent beats Federer that he will never be in Tiger's class. But isn't the definition of dominant being far superior to your opponents? Federer is far and away the best player in tennis (and it's not even close) so he would actually be more dominant than Tiger is. The way I see it, if you have guys who can routinely beat you, than you aren't as dominant. Tiger has a few players who can beat him (as you stated). Federer has one. Federer mad the final of every tournament he played last year except for one. By the way the statement of your that I bolded above actually says Tiger gets beat down far more than Federer does which, I believe, contradicts your argument. You beat me to it. By saying Federer doesn't have the competition that Tiger does pretty much proves Federer is more dominant.
  12. Superbowl now. Spring training... in a week.
  13. Prince This should be interesting. Thank god they put an end to MTV performing at half-time. Half time is about the only time I'll have to get up to use the bathroom, etc. I don't want to miss a snap, or a commercial believe it or not.
  14. You're probably right, but wouldn't it be cool? He's been the face of this organization for the past few years. I'd like to see him score in the Superbowl. I'm just bitter because Joe Thomas blew out his knee last year playing defense in a meaningless bowl game. Understandable. I'd hate to see Urlacher get hurt trying to run one up the gut. But then again, the Superbowl isn't a meaningless bowl game.
  15. Then again, an interception return or fumble recovery for a touchdown would probably be more sweet.
  16. You're probably right, but wouldn't it be cool? He's been the face of this organization for the past few years. I'd like to see him score in the Superbowl.
  17. I wouldn't mind seeing a William Perry type play called for Urlacher. Get to the one, than let him do some damage on his way into the end zone.
  18. Is the jinx for the big picture or anyone on the cover? This could be a case where both teams lose. Are we honestly going to start talking about cover jinxes? Jesus people. The only curse in the NFL that truly works is the Madden curse. Everyone know sthat. That's what Saints fans said last week when I put up the Brees cover... :) It'd be different if it were just Manning on the cover. But the Bears are on there too.
  19. Federer by far. Tiger is good, and probably could go down as the best all time in golf, but I don't think he's as dominating as Roger Federer right now.
  20. i was in the centerfield bleachers, called the grand slam...my friends, both cardinal fans, are probably still picking the silly string and peanuts off of them. My friend in the seat next to me lost his hot dog when everyone jumped up at once. I feel bad for the guy that caught that thing. It had more toppings on it than I've ever seen on a hot dog.
  21. The Rush are at, or almost at capacity every game. A lot of younger kids enjoy it, and parents see it as being cheaper than going to a Bears game. My old roommate used to work for the Rush, and I know a few people that still do. The games can be a lot of fun, but I don't think it'll ever compare to the NFL.
  22. Ah, fair enough. I just don't like the greys, never have. They just look like sweatpants/pajamas to me. Eh, at least the cubs haven't gone to red yet.... or to the sleeveless unis with the dark t-shirt underneath. Absolutely hideous...
  23. I'm with you. I'm concerned, but I'm also curious to see how these guys react with a new manager. I'm also curious to see if Big Z throws as many pitches this year as he did last year.
  24. I can understand Game 1 (Sammy's home run is probably the most exciting sports moment of my life, not counting things I witnessed live), but the other two? Watching them is part of the healing process.
