  1. Haha, yeah, the Aardsma picture was classic.
  2. There were a couple of lineman that got over 40 I believe. Most were in the 24-30 range. But yeah, much stronger than the backs were. Once you start watching the combine, you can't stop. It's almost hypnotic.
  3. I'm convinced it's only a matter of time until Santo gets in. I would love to see him get in this year, but I have a feeling he's going to come up literally one or two votes short. (Hey, he's a Cub, we're used to heartbreak) But the next ballot he's on, he will surely get in.
  4. 89 mph is being kind. Reporters are saying he didn't reach the mid 80's Maybe so-I'm just taking the results from the gun when he was up at Wrigley that I saw, but it's possible that the gun was a fast one. He definitely was getting it up to 89 and sometimes 90 on that particular gun in his starts for the Cubs at the end of last year though. For his sake, I hope you're right but I don't think that, in his current state, he makes the active roster (barring other injuries). My guess is that he starts the season on the DL which will allow him to make some rehab starts. The decision will be easier for Lou if everyone else in camp is healthy and pitching better. I look at this as a good problem to have. Having too many options at pitcher can only help a team out. It's better than years past where we were wondering where our 5th starter was going to come from, and what guys were going to fill out the bullpen. If Miller can reinvent himself and become a serviceable 5 man, then it's just icing on the cake. No one is expecting too much out of him right now. Whatever he gives you that is over expectations is just a bonus.
  5. http://www.midmajority.com midmajority is a very good site. I go there all the time.
  6. Eh, a win against South Florida on the 3rd, and a miracle Big East Tourney run might be enough. And by miracle run, I mean they pretty much need to reach the championship game. But yeah, I'm banking on the NIT.
  7. at this point i'm trying single and double seats in the upper deck just to see if it would work. nothing yet
  8. I'm still getting the "high volume" error message, so I haven't been able to see what's available. I'm not even going to buy at this point, this is just out of curiousity.
  9. Some of you guys must have a gift for getting through. I'm all done for the day, but i'm hearing a lot of people say they haven't gotten in once. And they all had like 20 windows open. And yet only a few have asked me to get tix for them. I don't know how, but I can get through. Haha, if the Cubs make the playoffs, I'm going to have to get your cell number.
  10. Wow, I just did a little experiment. I opened up 10 windows for the hell of it to see how long it'd take to get in. 2 of them opened up within about 20 seconds. EDIT: Make that four now.

  12. Wow, looks like you had quite a successful (and expensive) day.
  13. look like Lou has one of his midgets Yeah, but that midget has a problem taking walks. Although, the giant in that picture has no problem issuing them.
  14. It's showing bleachers available...not sure how accurate until you actually try to buy them. I have four in section 209 right now...if you want them. nah, thanks though vance. turns out my buddy upgraded his seats through a dbacks messageboard and got great seats. so i don't need to look anymore. appreciate it though.
  15. does anyone know what the best seats available are for the july 22nd arizona game?
  16. hahahahaha, i got kicked back out into the waiting room. unbelievable. luckily i was just trying to get seats for my friend. he already got tickets to the game, but he was looking for better seats.
  17. I'm in, I just keep getting the "high transaction volumes" message, so it won't let me buy any.
  18. This is going to sound weird, but anyone that gets decent seats for the Diamondbacks series that would be willing to sell four of them for a reasonable price, let me know. My buddy is from Arizona, and he's split between the dbacks and the Cubs, so those are the games he's trying to get.
  19. 236, you're out towards right field, by the bullpen 219, you're right behind home plate basically. both decent sections.
  20. How in the world did you pull that off??? I got in one time, and got close to that last seats for the opening series Sunday night ESPN game (the Barrett grand slam.) I got in pretty early too. You faired pretty well though, that's awesome. I work with 150 guys, all between the ages of 22 and 32. Most are divided between Cubs and Sox fans with a few other teams spread throughout. No one really works on this day. Sure, everyone shows up, but 150 guys sit at their computer and try to get tickets all day.
  21. "Does anyone know where I can buy a new boombox down here in Texas?"
  22. The "new window" method worked for us at work last year. Guys would open up about 20 using the CTL-N method, and they got in a bunch of times from different windows. I had a bunch open, but for some reason, I only got in once.
  23. He's not weird. He's actually a really nice guy. He has the same doctor as a buddy of mine down in Alpharetta, GA. He used to run into him all the time, and Barrett was always joking with everyone in there.
  24. Who are your ones then? Please say Kansas. well, KU has a better resume than OSU. But I'd go Fla, UCLA, UNC, Wiscy. aTm or KU have a chance if they win out and one of those teams really stumbles. Those are my four right now too. But there are a couple of teams that could slide in if UNC or Wisc loses their conference tourney. Pitt, if they won the Big East Tourney would have an outside shot, and Kansas, who has already beaten a number 1 team this year when they beat Florida would have a shot. A team I think will do some serious damage, and could possibly sneak into a number 1 slot (with A LOT of help), would be Georgetown. They are probably the hottest team in the country right now.
