  1. Enjoy your gift victory. The Bears were good tonight, but the Packers handed them that game. The Bears didn't win. The Packers lost.
  2. This team is complete crap tonight.
  3. The penalites are absolutely maddening tonight. There is no reason a football team, and a supposedly good one at that should be penalized nearly this many times.
  4. Not all Lovie's fault. That was a very catchable ball.
  5. And why would that be?
  6. I'm about one Bears-Packers game from trying to set up a "Bears fans only" game thread and if the Packers losers want to have their own thread have at it. Oh wait, we already have that. It's called this thread and the "Week 3 NFL" thread. And if the Packers fans have a problem with that, they can petition to move the Cubs to Wisconsin. (see I told you my civility would go away as game time approaches. I'm sorry but it's like the Cardinals...I've trained myself to dislike the rival so much that those that choose to follow that team just seem so dispicable to me and its beyond my comprehension why anyone would choose to follow that deplorable team. Luckily, A) I've learned to only view a person in that light when my team plays theirs, and B) I don't take myself or sports seriously enough to really truly feel that way about the person, beyond sports banter. But still....) Yes please!
  7. The Bears don't scare me.
  8. It was a 50 year history in a dump that teams couldn't wait to leave, the only reason it was lamented was because it was in NY. Do you ever like anything? Anything at all?
  9. Translation: "This team sucks and I don't need the headache."
  10. Also how about Ichiro? Damn! 10 straight years of 200+ hits, tying Pete Rose for the all-time record. And if you count his stats in Japan before he came to the States, he has more than 3,500 professional hits.
  11. The play like crap until they get mathematically eliminated and then become world beaters. Yup, sounds like the Cubs.
  12. Clay Matthews is a beast. That is all.
  13. No kidding. I'd say the Rangers are my second favorite team. I love watching them play and really think they have a great chance in the playoffs. A friend of mine lives in Dallas and is a die-hard Rangers fan. They can relate to Cubs fans pain and even now as good as they've done and as much of a sure thing as the playoffs are for them, they are willing to count any chickens before their hatched. No, they can't. Nobody can. Except other Cubs fans.
  14. I think you can just about close the book on the Cardinals 2010 playoff hopes. If they weren't dead before this series they sure are now.
  15. The worst part is that it kills any sort of trade value he might have had. Not that it would have been very high to begin with.
  16. With as unstable as he is I would not be at all shocked to see him up and quit sometime next year if something doesn't go his way.
  17. Yeah but I thought the Packers were the best match, making the playoffs almost as often as the Braves, and only winning 1 title each, in the mid-90's. I think the Packers are much better match for the Cardinals. A sanctimonious fan base that thinks it is the center of the heartland of its sport. Disagree completely. We're never lucky. Some of our postseason losses rival that of the Cubs compared to the Cardinals. We're the perfect compliment to what the Braves were in the mid 90's and the 2000's. I'm still pissed about the Arizona loss.

  19. Yeah, but you can't count on the Packers finding that guy. I sure as hell hope they do, but it's not a guarantee. This week should certainly be interesting, personnel-wise for the Packers. Sure they can....lose your franchise QB, oh here's another one down on your depth chart. The Packers always find that player they need. It's not like Aaron Rodgers was some scrap-heap journeyman who just happened to have an amazing few years after Favre left. He was drafted to take over once Brett left, and at least on the day he was drafted was no lower than the #2 QB on a lot of draft boards. There are a lot of QBs that are drafted much higher than Rodgers each year that never end up half as good as Rodgers has been. My bitterness comes from the Bears 50 year search for a competent QB, while the Packers are blessed with one of the best QBs in NFL history, then make one 1st round QB pick in 20 years and it so happens they get their next Top 5 QB. Not that you care but imagine how frustrating that is for Bears fans that have been waiting all this time for Favre to retire so Packers fans have to become nomads in the QB desert like we have been. Heh. Yeah. It is pretty funny now that you mention it.

  22. I agree. This is a huge loss.
  23. If they make the playoffs, they're my NL pick with those 3 guys.
