  1. I think they need to come up with a new formula.
  2. Yeah, he went more than halfway on that swing.
  3. Cases like this should be treated like attempted murder.
  4. At least there's someone who can out-Cub the Cubs. You're kidding, right? No, not really. Not going to turn this into a big thing (as I'm sure a lot of others will. I'm hunkering down for a lot of flame and hate to be thrown my way), but you said that WE had the longest postseason losing streak. The Cubs did. And now it was passed. So at least there was someone who craps the bed worse than we do in the playoffs. That's quite a feat. Not all of my "only the Cubs" statements have been warranted. Some were said merely out of frustration. But there's truth behind a lot of them. Like this one. And a lot of others. But, like I said, I've stated my case on this before, as has everyone else, so I'm not going to get into it.
  5. This is certainly the year of the pitcher. A nice change of pace. Three perfect games this year (I'm counting Gallaraga's), like 4 no-hitters, a ton of low ERA's and high-K totals. It's nice to see the game even out again.
  6. At least there's someone who can out-Cub the Cubs.
  7. Dammit! This season sucks already.
  8. Damn Yankees. Last I checked it was 3-0, then I got up to go out and it was 4-3. What the hell?
  9. Dammit, I had an appointment and then went out to dinner with the wife and kid and completely missed history. Oh well.
  10. Yeah, I didn't see that coming.
  11. Texas got a break on that foul tip call.
  12. It's a freakin playoff game and the Tampa fans can't even fill the place? That team will be in a new city in 10 years.
  13. I love the playoffs. The only thing that could make this better is if the Cubs were in it and didn't completely crap the bed like they're prone to do.
  14. Frick. I was hoping the Vikes would crash and burn and not be able to get Brett any weapons. Not a good week to be a Packer fan. We lost out on Lynch, we'll have to face Moss twice this year now, and McNabb scares the crap out of me on Sunday.
  15. Whoever had Sam Fuld in the "Who Makes the Last Out of 2010" pool please collect your prize!
  16. That's one of the most correct questions yet. The Ricketts have no experience running a ballclub, and they have the former legal counsel for the Tribune Company doing it for them. This guy should have been out the door the minute he had a Greek Orthodox minister spray holy water in the dugout before the 08 playoffs. I wonder what kind of job Hendry would be able to do if he had someone with a baseball knowledge base as his boss. At least someone who has the authority to tell him whether he can go in a given direction. An appropriate president may have prevented Hendry from viewing the off-season with tunnel vision on a particular aspect of the team. I KNEW there was a reason we lost that year!
  17. I don't like Dusty, but I can't bring myself to hate the Reds. They're just.....there.
  18. Nothing quite like being out of it by mid-april.
  19. The only rooting interest I have in this postseason is "not the Yankees." I have teams I want to see win more than others, but the Yankees are the only playoff team I'll be rooting against. If it's Twins vs. Rays/Rangers in the ALCS, I'm just going to enjoy some good postseason baseball without the burden of a rooting interest. The NL I couldn't possibly care less. I guess either Giants or Phillies if I had to root, but if the Reds or Braves win the pennant it won't upset me.
  20. I thought the Cubs pretty much tanked in early June of that year. I know it was right around the time of my HS graduation that they went to Cleveland and completely crapped the bed and I think it was all downhill from there. I haven't checked, but that's how I remember it.
  21. I'll say: Twins over Yanks in 5 Tampa over Texas in 4 Phils over Reds in 4 Giants over Braves in 4 ALCS: Tampa over Min in 6 NLCS: Phils over Giants in 5 Phils over Tampa in 7 But I suck at predictions so don't be surprised if I picked every single LDS winner wrong.
  22. Are you going to stick with that?
  23. I cant argue with that one. Damn, was that '04 team stacked. How did we not win the WC? Friggin Victor Diaz.
  24. BP was pretty spot on for us, record-wise.
  25. Yes, this season sucked, but expectations weren't very high going into the season anyway. The worst seasons for me are when they put together a suck-fest like this when expectations are a division title and a playoff run.
