  1. No we didn't. He's like a cockroach. You can't kill him.
  2. More like [expletive] Harvin, amirite?
  3. Kids are like rubber. FINISH HIM!!
  4. We're in Lambeau next week so I feel good about our chances. If it was Dallas, forget it.
  5. Big win. I had it chalked up as a loss. We could have looked better, and the Jets looked like crap, but I'll take it. I would like less dropped passes from here on out, though.
  6. The Packers have dropped like 3 or 4 very catchable balls today, too. This game should be about 20-0 Packers, at least, not 6-0.
  7. Clay Matthews is a motherlovin BEAST.
  8. The Jets have run like 3 or 4 "trick" plays in this game (the fake punt, the Tomlinson pass, and the direct snap to the RB that I remember). Is that common for them or are they just mixing it up more today for whatever reason?
  9. He'll be fine. Just needs to rub some dirt on it.
  10. There have really been some weird plays in this game.
  11. Not like the Packers have really capitalized on opportunities much today.
  12. I can't recall the last NFL game I watched (if ever) that was this low-scoring this late in the game.
  13. I got Mozart. Beat that. Coolio. I win.
  14. The wife missed Babe Ruth by 1 day.
  15. Perfect prank call opportunity, man!
  16. Gregg Jeffries. Now I win, Rocket!!
  17. Holy bullpen fail, Batman!
  18. Brain Wilson is an insane person. I love it.
  19. Anyway, breaking this down... Move one team to the AL, drop the DH: Oh sweet Jesus yes. I would not mind having interleague series all over baseball all season long. The players Union would never allow the DH to be dropped, though. If anything you'd have to add it to the NL. - Shorten the season to 130 games, two series against each team in your league, one series against each team in the other I think in theory this works, but it isn't practical. I think teams should have to qualify for playoff births by beating the other teams in their division and proving without a doubt that they're the best. Wasn't this one of the reasons for instituting the unbalanced schedule? Also, I think 130 is a little too few. Be done by the end of August? That's just when things start to get good. I say end by mid-september and go to about 148-152 or so. Add another wild card, 3 or 5 game play-in series followed by 7 games Division, League, and World championship series I'd be in favor of this only if you had the "flex scheduling" like I mentioned in the OP. If both teams would sweep a series, they shouldn't have to wait a week or more to play each other. In a case like that the LCS or World Series should be moved up in order to accommodate. I just don't want it to be like basketball where the playoffs take two months. Hard salary cap and floor phased in over a half decade I've wanted this for 15 years.
  20. You are taking 16 home games away from everybody. You are taking numerous "high value games" away from many teams. Boston/NYY go from playing 18 games to 6, Tampa hosts the Yankees 3 times instead of 9. This is all just incredibly unrealistic and impossible to make work. You can't force San Fran to play Washington as often as they play the Dodgers. Baseball is a business built on getting butts in seats for 6 months. This plan would kill the business model. I'm taking 16 home games away from everybody? Are you sure? You are. You're taking 32 games off the schedule, and half of that would be 16. So that's 16 gates that each team would be without. I don't care much for your idea, TT. You've got the right ideas but I think the execution is wrong.
  21. It would. You'd most likely need travel days in between each game, stretching a serious out to almost two weeks.
  22. Really interesting article from ESPN. The Players Union is planning to propose an expanded playoff system once the current Collective Bargaining Agreement ends in 2012. They would propose more playoff teams and also a possible 7-game LDS round insead of 5. Also, in order to fit this in a reasonable schedule, the idea of shortening the regular season is being floated. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=5728656 Personally I'd just leave things how they are. The one major playoff change I'd make is more flexibility in playoff scheduling, meaning that if both WS teams sweep the LCS, it could start two days after both teams clinch, and not nearly a week later. That's just me, though.
  23. I wouldn't have bet money on the game, but it doesn't surprise me that we won with the way Favre has looked this year. This game, however, I think won't be close. The Jets will paste us.
  24. Kind of amazing to me that the Sox/Astros was the lowest-rated series ever, seeing as Chicago and Houston are two pretty big markets. Although Houston isn't really and Astros town and nobody cares about the White Sox outside of the South Side.
