  1. This. Yes, mostly the latter. Cub fans would still have liked him after they realized there wasn't anything magical about his schtick. But then he insisted on being a turd. That was the end. But he always knew when the slider low and away was coming... So you guys are ripping on a color analyst for *gasp* analyzing a game? The nerve of that man to actually give some insight into a baseball game!
  2. This. Yes, mostly the latter. Cub fans would still have liked him after they realized there wasn't anything magical about his schtick. But then he insisted on being a turd. That was the end. To be honest, if I had the 2004 he did, and the manager and players were more concerned with me than what was going on on the field and it made my job hell, I think I'd have taken potshots on the way out the door as well.
  3. huh? I don't want to back into the playoffs because the Bears are going to lay down. I wanted them to be playing for something so we could earn that playoff spot. Plus I want to face the Bears in the playoffs.
  4. Dammit, Vikings. Can't you do anything right?
  5. It's a pass on $1 million/1year deal. The Cubs don't have room for a hitter who can't play the field. I'd be ok with him giving Pena very occasional off-days as well.
  6. If it's a 1 yr/ 1 m deal in which he's strictly a pinch hitter off the bench, then yes. Anything other than that, pass.
  7. Stone is an ex-Cub. Once traded for Ron Santo.
  8. And considering Philly has to win both of their remaining games for this scenario to even happen, it makes it even more unlikely. Also, you'd have to think the Packers would be in danger of a flat performance at Soldier coming off two emotional playoff-clinching victories at home, but we'll see. I'm pissed that the re-seeding deal couldn't have happened this year, because the Bears would be looking at either a bye or a first-round matchup at home vs the Rams/Seahawks. I don't get all the talk about re-seeding. The playoffs are fine as-is. One 8-8 team slips into the playoffs (which has happened before) and everyone gets their panties in a wad. The system isn't perfect. Deal with it. (This isn't directed at anyone in particular)
  9. They have had a great season, and have been better than a lot of people (myself included) thought they ever would be.
  10. I couldn't agree more.
  11. That they did.
  12. In fact, here's a link! http://www.northsidebaseball.com/forum/topic?f=44&t=58319 Some of my best work. Man, you guys got PISSSSSSED. It was funny. You probably shouldn't admit trolling. And you probably shouldn't provide links to it. It wasn't really trolling. At first I was legitimately pissed about the result of the game, but as it went on I was more amused by some of the responses from the board. I did and still do believe that if the Packers had won that game on a last-second field goal after 170-some yards of penalty help from the Bears, Bears fans would have said they handed the Packers that game.

  14. It's people like you that give Packers fans everywhere a bad rep. Yeah. Having faith in my team sure makes all those other Packers fans look bad. There's a huge difference between having faith in your team and purposely starting [expletive] on a board consisting mostly of Bears fans. Do we have to revisit the GB-CHI Week 3 game thread? Please do. That was fun times.
  15. You must not remember that week 3 thread. It may be difficult for you to remember that thread in an ocean of your ridiculous posts in the past few years, but it may be worth another read. Like I said before, I stand by every single thing I said Week 3. If the shoe was on the other foot Bears fans would have echoed a lot of my opinions.

  17. Wasn't it enough that you embarrassed us once at home already? You won on a last-second FG. It's not like you won by 4 TD's. I stand behind everything I said Week 3, so I won't rehash it here. Even with all the penalties and such the Bears still had their hands full all game long. We can beat the Bears in Chicago or Green Bay. Bring them on. Nothing would be sweeter than ending their season on their home field and sending all the Bears fans home crying. In Chicago or Green Bay huh? Tought talk considering the Packers already lost in Chicago. Can you beat the Bears anywhere else? How about in Detroit? Or are the Lions the only team you have trouble with there? Don't be modest, they had trouble with the Lions in Green Bay as well. They won there because the Lions punted late in the 4th quarter from the GB 37 and never ended up getting the ball back, despite dominating yardage and time of possession, due to penalties and special teams blunders. So, by erik's definition, the Lions embarrassed the Packers in Green Bay. No, I didn't say we embarrassed the Bears at home. I said we WOULD if we met in the playoffs. Read before you respond. You sound smarter that way.

At least we can beat the Lions at home without the help of some BS "completing the catch" rule.

  20. I don't care how it plays out. I just want the Bears in the playoffs, and embarrass them at home.
  21. A fighter right up until the end. I wouldn't have expected Ron to go out any other way.
  22. Calm down Erik, this is basketball. Nice
  23. Does anyone else find it funny that those guys will be carrying their NCAA violations around with them forever? Just me? Ok then.
  24.
  25. Yeah, pass on that. I want Webb, as he's a lottery ticket at this point, but not if the price is too high. But, as others have said, I fear the fallback and overpayment if we lose out on Webb.
