  1. Thank God.
  2. Incorrect. It will be when their leadoff hitter reaches on a seeing eye single in the top of the first on opening day. Yeah. That's exactly what'll happen.
  3. I don't think they will but I certainly don't think a person is immediately dumb if they think so. At least until further questioning. If they THINK so, they're probably pretty dumb. If it happens, it happens... but to look at the situation now and predict that those teams will finish ahead of a better team is pretty much the opposite of smart. Right. Thinking that could happen is reasonable. Thinking that it will happen or is likely to happen is being erik. Actually I think the Cubs finish ahead of Houston and Pittsburgh this year, but thanks for playing.
  4. I'm actually surprised it's taken this long for someone to come out and say that, to be honest with you. With as many arms as Dusty has ruined it was just a matter of time before someone spoke out.
  5. Yikes I didn't realize that Young was 34 already.
  6. It's not really fans, but season ticket holders who either want an 18-game schedule or fewer preseason games. What season ticket holders want is not to have to pay regular season price for 2 additional preseason games. Replacing one of those with a regular season game makes great sense to me. While I can usually get 1.5x face or greater for a regular season game I'm not attending, I usually have trouble giving away my preseason tickets...so I love the idea of one less preseason home game replaced with an additional regular season game. Now, if it's an 18-game schedule + 2 preseason games...I'm not as much in favor of that. I'm not sure I understand.. you don't want any preseason at all?
  7. Because people are idiots.
  8. Is that the same Joe Cowley that pitched a no-hitter for the White Sox in the 80's and walked like 7 guys in the process?
  9. Was that $18 million from Texas really a reality or was that just someone spouting off? Because if we get that money, we could send a lot of it off with Soriano and make him a lot more palatable to someone.
  10. I entered the lottery... there's no way I can get to Fenway but I can imagine I can flip them on StubHub or eBay for quite a bit more than face value. But I'd actually have to win them first, and I'm not holding my breath.
  11. If the Rangers kick in that much money, I'd find it hard to say no.
  12. If Cutler did that, you'd call him a douche. More than likely. My point is that it's more dislike of the Packers than dislike of the celebration he does.
  13. The Rodgers hate is more sour grapes than anything. If Cutler did that you'd all have .gif's of it.
  14. I think Mike Lombardi brought that up on one of Bill Simmons' podcasts last week, mentioning that it was unfortunate for Pittsburgh that their biggest strength would basically be wasted in this game. I'm sure that's true, but still -- RB surely cannot be considered a need for this team when they just showed they can run a road schedule all the way to the Super Bowl and then win it with Starks + all the top-notch passing game options they have. Obviously they would benefit from a better back, as all teams would. I'd rather upgrade the O-line. Tauscher and Clifton are pretty much done. Also as a pipe dream I'd love to draft Clay Matthews' brother and have both of them just wrecking everyone's [expletive] week after week on D.
  15. Were you recently suspended from Google too? Nope, but thank you for your helpful answer. :)
  16. Yeah, that long stretch known as baseball season sure does suck. That's not what I said.
  17. I missed JJ Hardy going to Baltimore-- when did that happen?
  18. Please tell me its not forever Depends on who wins on Sunday. I'm surprised it didn't get extended again for no reason just out of spite for the Packers winning. Yes, NSBB, I have returned. It was an amazing, wonderful, nail-biting game that I still haven't come down from. The 3rd quarter scared the crap out of me, especially with us seemingly losing one player every other play right before the half. It was our season in a nutshell-- a whole bunch of injuries, but someone stepping up and making a contribution. This is one of the most improbable seasons I can ever remember, not just for the Packers, but for any team. To have 15 guys on IR would have devastated most teams under the circumstances. Not only that, but to have to win 3 tough road games and then beat an elite team in the Super Bowl without most of your starting secondary for the entire second half is just mind-boggling. I sincerely can't believe it. This is even sweeter than Super Bowl XXXI to me because it seemed so improbable, especially after the loss to Detroit. I look forward to many years of hard-fought Bears/Packers battles as both teams are actually good at the same time for once. If the Bears get another playmaking WR and make a few other upgrades, they're gonna be scary good. It's going to be an interesting few years and I can't wait. Now is the worst time of year-- that long stretch between the Super Bowl and Opening Day. I hate this time of year.
  19. Maybe he can slip Aaron Rodgers something in his drink. Has there been an early line on this game yet?
  20. *looks at game threads* wonder where he learned that from His mother.
  21. That look on his face when he turns is pure 5-year-old. Outstanding. My son has tantrums like that. 17 points will win this game, I think. Yards and scores are going to be incredibly hard to come by. It could very well be one of the more classic Super Bowls ever played. I just hope I don't get sick of hearing about the media comparing the championships between these two teams, because that's gonna get old fast.
  22. We're not the ones who forced you to come into the Bears thread and gloat about the Packers win. True, but nothing in there forced the personal attacks, either. It's a two-way street. I attacked after I was attacked first. Plain and simple. However, seeing as I have better things to do tonight, I will say this: Congratulations to the Bears on a good season and for nearly pulling out the win despite the injury to Cutler. I honestly thought they were going to tie it on that final drive. The Bears are going to be a force to be reckoned with for quite some time, and I wouldn't at all be shocked to see them back in the NFC Championship Game next year. However, to those who are personally attacking me for coming in to congratulate the Bears: Kiss my ample ass. That is all.
  23. Roll your fat ass back to the Packers thread, you stupid inbred. Stay classy, Butters. Your tears sustain me. Keep crying. you came in here to troll, it's like you wanted to be called fat. Since when is "Congratulations to the Bears for a good game, I was right, and both teams will be good for a long time" trolling? I was pointing out a fact. I've said all along that the Packers were the better team. Go to the week 3 game thread if you don't believe it. I've taken crap for it all year, and was simply pointing out that I was right before I went back to complimenting the Bears. Seriously, on a scale of 1-10, that rates about a 2 in trolling.
  24. Roll your fat ass back to the Packers thread, you stupid inbred. Stay classy, Butters. Your tears sustain me. Keep crying. I thought Wendy's triple stacks and anything with salt sustained you. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: Enjoy the Super Bowl
  25. Your bitterness is like music. I love it. Keep it coming!
