  1. That's a good point. I didn't even think about that. Keep my original lineup but swap Pena with either Aram or Soto.
  2. Yes, but Lucas Oil is a football-only stadium, isn't it? I have no knowledge of the dimensions of the place or anything, but I do know that when the Dodgers played in the LA Colosseum for a few years there were some crazy dimensions (something like 270 down each line and 510 to CF or something like that) so that probably wouldn't be the best idea. I wouldn't be opposed to a team in Indy, however, if they could get a new stadium for it.
  3. New York's a large enough population to have enough people that hate both the Yankees and Mets to support a 3rd team. I'd be all for moving a couple of the teams already out there. Send one to NYC and another to Vegas. Vegas will need an indoor facility first, but I definitely like the idea. Although Vegas has taken a rather mighty hit with the economy lately. The foreclosure rate there might be higher than anywhere in the country right now. It's probably not the ideal time to consider it there right now. Good point. Once the economy recovers more it's probably the one last major untapped market where a baseball team could do well. I personally don't think we'll ever see a team in Vegas in any of the 4 major professional sports in our lifetime. There's far too much possibility for corruption there, even if you don't allow games by that team to be bet on.
  4. Yeah, his numnbers weren't too hot there last year, but he only started 47 games there last year. He's still got a career .355 OBP there over his three years with the Cubs. Personally, I'd be happy with him hitting 1st or 2nd I'd go Castro/Fuku/Pena/Aram/Soto/Soriano/Byrd/DeWitt myself
  5. Baseball season is just around the corner. Pretty soon the snow will be melted, the leaves will start to blossom on the trees, and the greatest game in the world will be in full swing. I can't wait!
  6. yeah, i hated when the cubs loaded their whole lineup with RH batters against LHP. i don't lefty batters who can't hit LHP in the lineup, but if their splits aren't too bad then keep 'em in. The old line of thinking is still prevalent in today's game, unfortunately.
  7. Interesting read from Angels blog, where the writer lists BA's list as it appeared in 2001, and the "adjusted" list based on how everything panned out. I take issue with a few of those rankings, but I still think it's interesting to look back and see how accurate (or inaccurate) it was. http://angels.ocregister.com/2011/02/23/baseball-americas-top-prosects-10-years-later/73283/
  8. This is such a complete and total mess. I don't see how the Wilpons can keep the Mets after this lawsuit. It has to completely suck to be a Mets fan right now.
  9. Oh, I agree. It just seems that there's always some person who is all RARRRR BATTING ORDER DOESN'T MATTER WHHHARRRRGLARBLLLL during those discussions. I'm on the same side as you, man. Unbunch your panties.
  10. So he's advocating another team or two in the New York metro area? NYC was able to support 3 MLB teams when it was half the population it is now. I see no reason why it couldn't again. Not that I support moving a team into the NY metro area. I'm just making a point.
  11. No, I'm furious that someone feels the need to insult my family. I don't care how much anyone here hates me, there is no need to bring my family into it. And if the mods don't want to do anything about the insults toward me, that's fine. I can defend myself. But if my family (especially my son) is insulted again it damn well better not go ignored. You are the one who brought your family into it Mentioning them, yes. Insulting them? No. There is a difference. But, I guess it's too much to expect people to know that.

But if my family (especially my son) is insulted again it damn well better not go ignored. nobody insulted your family, they insulted you. Really? I said my son was going to win the Cy Young award, and the response was "McDonald's gives out Cy Young's?" Are you really so dense as to think that was directed at me? If so it makes absolutely no sense. It was a shot at my son and was completely uncalled for. But I'm not going to sit here and argue this all night and have yet another thread derailed, although I'm sure the insults against me will go on for at least another page or so before the thread either gets buried or locked, so have at it!
  13. *waits for the obligatory "batting order doesn't matter" post*
  14. Right now anything other than a Boston/Philly World Series in October would come as a shock to me.

  16. Insulting my 2-year-old son? Really? Do you feel like a big man now by insulting someone who can't even defend himself? Say whatever you want about me, but only a true piece of crap brings another person's family into it.
  17. Why would he care about candy if he's pitching in a game? I lol'd the better question is what's erik's toddler doing on a pitching mound at that age? Kid's got an arm. He'll be a Cy Young winner one day.
  18. Charles Woodson has said he'd be happy to move to Safety if the Packers sign Ashomugha to play CB. Yes, please.
  19. Yeah, I don't know how much longer he's going to benefit from good health with his injury history. It could be a long year in St. Louis.
  20. I'll believe it when I see him not stomping around on the mound like my toddler when I tell him he can't have candy.
  21. Are you saying that you would actually prefer Zambrano or Garza? Garza maybe, but I can live with Demp.
  22. There were a few times in '98 I thought that Harry was intervening on our behalf.. specifically the ball stuck under the RF padding against the White Sox. Maybe Ronnie has a few tricks up his sleeve from beyond the grave.
  23. Overall it's a low risk move. Maybe Coello can be a useful piece.
  24. Boy, we sure do like pitchers that were once former catchers.
  25. I sincerely hope he gets the help he so desperately needs.
