  1. To add to the entertainment between innings, Barry Bonds is facing 14 federal indictments on perjury. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3394878
  2. I'm not sure if you mean win or wind, but I agree with you on either. I'm not sure if the wind is very fun with Marquis on the mound... But it could be very fun with Estes on the other side.
  3. Gonzalez lines out to Marquis. The liner knocks him down, but he held on. Inning over.
  4. They are. Especially when they wear those camo uni's at home. Yikes.
  5. I'm not sure if you mean win or wind, but I agree with you on either.
  6. Giles lines a single to left. 1 on, 2 out.
  7. Iguchi flies to Soriano on the track. 2 down.
  8. I've quoted him word for word in the car sometimes when my wife is along with me, right up through "...along with Cubs legend Ron Santo, it's Pat Hughes reporting..."
  9. Yay! Ron is back! Dave Otto grates after a while.
  10. Same. On a day off it's nice, although the night games are nice when I work that day.
  11. I probably won't get to Wrigley this year. :( I'll be at the game in Milwaukee on July 31st, though. You live in SE Wisconsin, no excuse. Don't have the $$ this year. I usually take a bus from the Jefferson, WI Park and Rec dept down to the game, but they're charging more than I can afford this year with a ton of bills and a kid on the way. Maybe next year. I'll save all winter if I have to.
  12. I hate home night games. Baseball is meant to be played during the day, dangit! There should be far more 1:20 starts than there actually are.
  13. I probably won't get to Wrigley this year. :( I'll be at the game in Milwaukee on July 31st, though.
  14. Didn't we try to trade for him before the Roberts fiasco? I heard speculation, but, as always, Tampa wanted the moon and a few planets.
  15. And trade him for a middle reliever 2.0 WHIP version! I hear Andy Pratt's available. It's too bad he couldn't hit like Ankiel. He threw like him though. I'd have more faith in Ankiel throwing a strike from Center Field than I would in Andy Pratt standing on the mound.
  16. And trade him for a middle reliever 2.0 WHIP version! Hell, why trade him? Just bury him further in the minors while we sign Derrick Turnbow while we're at it. He used to be really good!
  17. "Reds manager Dusty Baker said the batting order was correct on the dugout board and on his scorecard. "The guys hit out of order, and it's my job to catch that," Baker said. "So I take full responsibility." The problem was the double switch a few innings earlier, apparently Patterson and Ross weren't aware of it. Wow. Dusty owned up to something instead of making lame excuses or trying to blame someone else. Maybe he's turned over a new leaf.
  18. I wouldn't doubt it. They all look the same.
  19. Dusty Baker did far more damage than any other single name on that list.
  20. I wouldn't care if Jim Edmonds is Babe Ruth incarnate for the entire time he's in a Cub uniform. I'll be pulling for the Cubs still, but I'll still despise Jim Edmonds. I will officially refuse to recogize him as a Cub.
  21. Jason Marquis is Geovany Soto when compared to Jim Edmonds.
  22. Good luck. Marquis needs all the help he can get.
  23. I wouldn't shed any tears. Although what do you do with him? I guess he'd first be demoted to the bullpen. If he stinks there, I don't know if the Cubs would be willing to send him to the minors with that contract. I don't know if they'd eat it by DFA'ing him, so I guess the most logical choice would be to trade him for whatever you can get. It would be either garbage for garbage, or we'd have to ship off some good young talent along with him if we wanted his salary completely off the books. I guess it would probably be garbage for garbage, and hope we strike gold again like we did in the Hundley for Karros and Grudz trade.
  24. I stopped trying to understand that game years ago.
