  1. I'm a fan of selling high like everyone else, but there's no reason to sell on Zambrano right now.
  2. http://www.theonion.com/content/news/team_jacket_wearing_transistor?utm_source=a-section be gentle
  3. How'd that snowball in hell do?
  4. It wasn't his sole concern, but I definitely think that ability was part of it. Ability ended up trumping his previous biases against Edmonds. If I'm the one being referenced here, then Banedon is correct. Edmonds was my most hated player in all of baseball, and I hated that the Cubs signed him. But he helped us quite a bit and hit some big HR's for us, and I warmed up to him.
  5. Not only that, but Valverde may be the biggest ass in the league. Rooting for him would be painful. Last year taught me that if I can root for Jim Edmonds, I can root for anyone.
  6. That's really mind-blowing considering how godawful he was for the first month or so. And last year from May afterwards. He was terrible for a full calendar year and then just suddenly figured it out again as quickly as it went away. He's been one of the few bright spots in this turd of a season.
  7. Just getting in. Cripes, another 2 HR game for Lee? He's Soriano-level hot right now. Who'd have thought that after his awful 2008 and bad April that he'd have an outside shot at 40 homers this year?
  8. Actually, my mom is having surgery that day.
  9. I have 2 tickets available for the September 23 game at Miller Park against the Brewers. They're in Section 230, row 9. They're $45 a ticket and I'm willing to sell them for face value. Unforseen circumstances came up that will cause me to miss this game. IM me if you're interested in the tickets and we can work something out.
  10. I wonder where Hughes would rank on this. Seems like they ranked only a teams TV or radio guy, and not both.
  11. The Iowa season ends Sept. 7, though I don't know if they have a shot at the playoffs or not. Once their season ends, leaving Shark in Iowa wouldn't do him any good. Yeah, but bringing him up wont do us any good either. Meh. It's not like he's going to blow crucial September games for us.
  12. It was over a while ago, man. Just kinda nice to watch the games and not have to get ticked off when they suck. Now that the season is pretty much over, tomorrow I'll get to watch the kids and count the days to Opening Day 2010 where I start the whole deal over again.
  13. per ESPN http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4434942
  14. Just shut Z down the rest of the year so he doesn't spend the offseason visiting Dr. Andrews.
  15. Paging Jim Hendry. Paging Mr. Jim Hendry.....
  16. Nothing is worse than Bradley. He's worse than Jimmy Carter. History's greatest monster. Adolph Hitler says hi. Simpsons reference that you missed, dude.
  17. Likely leaks from the teams who claimed them. just seems like bullcrap that this is happening to the cubs. this team has enough internal problems without this coming out. I don't think it's anything bad, really. Every team puts a ton of their players on waivers every August just to gauge the interest in them. 99% are pulled back. I'm sure the players realize that, and I don't think it bothers them too much. It's just part of the job.
  18. Sosa had several years in the teens. I dont ever remember him dropping a ball though. I also never remember him making a good accurate throw. I don't think that's fair, really. I remember a few times Sammy nailed a runner at the plate. He did have a very good arm, and when it was accurate, it was deadly. Sammy wasn't the best outfielder I've ever seen, but he certainly wasn't a liability out there.
  19. How does a 25 year old, fairly highly touted, Left hander get through waivers? I don't understand how this works. Are all GM's sent a fax when a player is put on waivers? Do they get a call from the league? Email? Maybe he was put on waivers at 3 am or something. I don't know. you really don't think this is how the waiver process works do you? green font
  20. If it were me, though, I'd probably have finished the season with him and dealt him in the offseason. Unless the Rays GM thinks that his arm is about to fall off and he wouldn't last that long.
  21. I could understand trading Kazmir due to budget constraints, but like Tim said, why trade when you're still in it? And for such a little return, no less? Kazmir could have easily been traded in the off-season if they needed to unload the money. There is no reason this had to be done now.

  23. I can see the Onion article now. LaRussa charged with drug trafficking Caught smuggling large amount of pixie dust across statelines LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL You really have a bad obsession with me. I can't post without you replying a pointless waste of time response. You don't like me. Get over it. Ignore my posts I don't care just stop making pointless posts that derail threads. Don't worry. He does the same thing to me, too. He thinks he's funny. If you don't respond to him, he'll go away.
  24. ESPN says the Twins were the team who claimed Harden and the Giants claimed Heilmann.
