  1. The Astros got swept but the games were close. The Astros played good baseball in the Series but the Sox were better. No shame in that unlike the Cards in 2004. You mean the year they beat the Astros in the NLCS? A sweep is a sweep. The Cardinals played poor baseball 2 years ago, but the Astros were equally embarrased last year.
  2. I heard from one person that they are awaiting approval from the inspectors or something like that. It's harder to do that in St. Louis than Chicago. The inspectors actually have to go to the site and inspect it. Really slows the process down if you ask me.
  3. ..and to think I was hoping we could get a swimming pool or a 20 ft cow in the middle of the outfield. But do you have a train that comes out for home runs? I don't think so.... :P Actually I think the outfield wall made out of toasted ravioli is a great idea!
  4. and that very well could happen. he just needs to find out what Maddux did last off season!
  5. ..and to think I was hoping we could get a swimming pool or a 20 ft cow in the middle of the outfield.
  6. Way to convince him Berkman! In other words "Please don't go play for the Rangers!".
  7. So what happens when the Yankees or Sawx offer him 18?
  8. Depends on how many of the writers focus on the sabermetrics. And if Jimmy continues to build on them. He won't be a 1st ballet, that's for sure.
  9. Thanks for the kind words about some of the Cards posters here. I think I speak for most of us when I say I've always enjoyed posting here. You folks deserve a winning team. As far as Clemens goes, I heard on ESPN 1000 this morning that people are starting to think the Yankees are going to take a very serious run at Clemens. With Johnson not pitching like a dominant ace, and their farm system in crappy shape, they see the rocket as their best chance this year. As always they have the money to outbid for his services. I think it would be good for the Cards and Cubs. Also, maybe he can play for the AL in the All-Star game and get clobbered.
  10. Right now he is in... The Hall of Very Good. He needs a few more seasons with limited decline for serious HOF consideration. imo...
  11. I WANT PICTURES!!! Don't let us down guys.
  12. glad you guys know it's a friendly jab. I really do hope D Lee gets back ahead of schedule. He's one of those players that you can't help but like.
  13. Have Thanksgiving Dinner. ..ok, that was mean. I'm sorry.
  14. Reading your post makes me really glad I don't live in Festus, Missouri. snood, have you ever been to Festus? I have, and you're right! Festus is the home of "The Bottle Rockets". One of my all time favorite bands. That's pretty much all I can say about Festus...
  15. You were pointing at me weren't you. ;)
  16. Wasn't he one of the original "Killer Bs" ? He was a heck of a player for a while. Why must people be stupid....
  17. I'm begging for this thread to go away...
  18. Right. That's why there is no such thing as "best fans." You are correct sir. Now I'll go. ;)
  19. Which boards? If you're fishing for ammo, you're bound to find some if you look hard enough. It wasn't hard to find. Last night, front page of Cards Talk was as far as I had to go. I'm sure they sounded a lot like the posts here demanding that Z put a fastball in Furcal's ear the next time they play. People say stupid things. On forums they say stupid things with little to no recourse. I'm going to leave this thread because it's silly.
  20. Vance, you know as well as I do that fireworks would go off over here from some posters if the same thing happened to Pujols. As a matter of fact I recall a few people saying Choi's best hit for the Cubs was when he destroyed Rolen's shoulder last year as a Dodger. Comments like that are going to be on EVERY forum. I hate what happened to Lee. I hope he comes back by tomorrow's game.
  21. This sucks guys. I hope both Lee and Eyre are back soon.
  22. How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?
  23. Shannon is awesome. They're both the torch bearers for their teams. Never a question that they live for the Cards or Cubs.
  24. If nothing else, he is entertaining.
  25. Reminds me of that time Santo said ".......BLAHHH .......GAAA NOOOOOOOOOOO...... Ohhh Man..."
