  1. no way in hell would i do that trade DITO As I said before: "I didn't say it was fair. I just said that's what it would take. Schmidt for Hill, Mitre and Pie. It was reported that the giants were asking for 2 major league ready pitchers and a top position prospect for Schmidt. I think I'm giving Hill and Mitre some credit here. Alou would probably take Dop and Wuertz at this point." And I wouldn't do the trade either.
  2. Well, after day 1, Truffle is whipping me 9-0. Looks like the ManEatingTarps will need a late week charge to take this one.
  3. I agree. Not that the Cubs aren't good, but that this trade would not be in thier best interest.
  4. And the Cards would have to give up Pujols and Edmonds. Schmidt's a free agent, who SF may not retain. They aren't going to get the moon. I think the Giants would ask for Marquis, Reyes (or Wainwright) and Luna or another prospect along those lines.
  5. I believe there is an option for Schmidt for next season. I need to check though.

  7. BRING IT ON BIG BOY! :D
  8. Mitre Hill Pie Dop Wuertz + another pitching prospect. would be my guess... San Fran is asking the moon for Schmidt.
  9. Also, be glad it's not April. The timing of the injuries is important. Had this been the middle of April, I guarantee the Cardinals wouldn't have a double digit lead in June and July. THe cushion you have may be enough to hold off the Astros and Cubs. Just hope your starters remain healthy. But remember, the Cards are 3-4 in their last seven. Have they had a seven game record of that at all this year? Exactly. If you're gonna have injuries, now is the time to have them with a double digit lead. This team is beat to crap right now, and Walker just went on the DL. If there is any truth to the Mora rumor, now would be a good time to get him...
  10. Some of us are putting our fingers on the panic button, but let's not get crazy. ;)
  11. I'm not going to make excuses. I'm just glad it's not September. If we still have these guys starting 2 weeks before the playoffs I'll start to panic. In a "glass half full" way, I hope our regulars are rested and ready to go after this. Missing the dog days of summer may end up being a good thing if they all come back 100%. Rolen worries me the most. That, and I don't think that Albert is healthy. He doesn't go ofer in big series like he did this weekend.
  12. I would love to meet up with you. 1908 and I live in the same hood (at least I think he still does). I'd love to buy you and the hubby a cold frosty one.
  13. Albert hasn't been hitting well so he's trying to get him going I guess. It was still dumb. This is Albert Pujols we're talking about. Keep the runner parked on first base and let Pujols swing away. I have to agree with you. I didn't get it.
  14. but turns a nifty double play... The throw from 2B to 1B can be made with any arm. If that was how you scouted the arm of a SS, it would it make it alot easier for many SS who had to shift to 2B. I know. The timing was just funny.
  15. Better arms cost 7 mil more a year. I do agree with you by the by...
  16. Lets doit, there's a few cards bars in chicago... Look for a thread in Rivalries when the playoff schedules come out in October.

I really like the folks over here. :ughug: same here.. I'm michael1234 over there. This board is much better We'll have to get the other Chicago folks together for a night out during the playoffs. Who knows, we might even get a couple of the Cubbie fans here out for a beer in October....

I really like the folks over here. :ughug: Awww...I think it's safe to say that we like you as well. I've got a thread over in rivalries right now about my trip. The Cubs fans down in the Lou were great this weekend. We don't root for the same teams, but I think we're both the best fans in baseball.
