Cubs/Cards series 9/17 at Wrigley?

After last year, you'll probably hear a lot of Cards fans talking about being worried about the World Series, and not "rubbing" the Cubs about the division title. We haven't won anything yet. All it takes are a few rude comments from either side, but I hope it's just a good weekend for baseball. There's no reason for the Cards fans to be smug, and no reason for the Cubs fans to take out their season on anyone else. -
How do I / or should I change my user name?

Good questions. I don't know how to change your name, but I think you can just PM Tim or a moderator to get that done. Perhaps you change to man eating tarp, then include Chicago for your location to remind people where you live, and in your signature provide a link explaining the tarp while pointing out you're a Cards fan. See, not that hard. My user name could be "ChicagoManEatingTarpCardFan" .... nah :D -

I'll be good. I can't speak for the rest of Cardinal Nation. It's looking like a lot of Cub fans are dumping tickets for this series to make a little money. It should be a VERY red crowd for this weekend's games. ;) -
I go by ManEatingTarp on the Cards forum and in the Cards/NSBB fantasy league. Should I change my name to match here? Would it throw people off? Would they forget I'm a Cards fan? Would they forget I live in Chicago? Would they even know about the Man-Eating Tarp of 1985? So many questions... Please help me decide.

Actually I did it because it's not technically against the rules :wink: I had put in a claim for three of them too. :) I put claims on all of them :)

You're not going to face Vance. Ha Ha. Gotcha :) As commish, you could put a stay on all waiver claims. I'd have no problem with freezing rosters.

Wow! :shock: That was unreal. I thought you had it in the bag Truffle. I have to make sure to stay on my toes this week. I hope you play again next year, and I agree that we should use waivers or at least freeze the rosters for the playoffs. If Vance loses this week it will be an all Cards finale! ;)

In my new appointment as "smartest fan" due to my fantasy league domination, I have ruled that Carpenter will win the Cy Young. Everyone can move on to another topic now. :D

I know that a lot of the this is how valued Wins are. That being said, I figured I'd throw some more gas on the fire. When this thread started (a really lone time ago) Clemens had 11 wins and Carpenter had 17. Carpenter now has 21 wins, and poor Roger is stuck on 11. Imo Carpenter has sealed the deal on the Cy in the last 2 weeks.

I've had trouble finding the right mix of OFers all season. Vlad counts as 2 ;) Cabrera/Jones/Mench/Beltran have been awesome for me. Burrell was on the bench all year. My pitching is aweful

Truffle's team is really good. Vance has a good shot. Thrillride looks strong. My team has lived off of the bottom feaders for the last month, and hasn't done well against the top teams. I am the Mariners of fantasy baseball...

Regular Season Champ!!! Of course Truffle and Vance kicked my rear the last month of the season, so I'm not liking my chances. I guess that's what you get when you build for the regular season, and not the playoffs... Good luck guys. It's been a fun year!

Tonights line for Carp. IP PC H ER BB K 7.0 96 3 0 1 7 The dude can pitch. Looks like win #21. That's 10 more wins than Clemens, and the rest of the #s are getting closer except IP and Ks which Carp is gonna walk away with. The ERA and BA will end up in the Clemens collum, but it won't be enough to tip the Cy Young scale his way imo.
