  1. Batman would just coat his cape in kryptonite and Superman would be toast. Kryptonite boxing gloves. Already been done. ;)
  2. Good to see we can all have fun. It was getting kind of cranky around here. :jocolor:
  3. To show some true geekness here. The writers of Batman aren't allowed to have Bruse Wayne ever sleep with anyone. It's a rule that is at the heart of the Wayne/Batman character. Just found that interesting...

  5. I'll give him points for Alfred, but it's still not close. Aunt May has been alive for 50 years with a bad heart. Take that Detective!
  6. Super strength. Agility. Spider senses! And he's got Mary Jane Watson. What's Batman got? A fancy belt and Robin.
  7. I am dumber for having just read this thread. St. Louis has great fans. Chicago has great fans. Tampa Bay has great fans. Wherever you have a baseball team, you'll find great fans. Here are my other thoughts on this thread: There is no way to quantify "best" on this subject, so just drop it. There is more to do in St. Louis than go to baseball games. Saying that there isn't shows me how short sighted some people can be. Carl Everret doesn't believe in dinosaurs, so I don't take a lot of stock in player opinions. Circle Jerks? I expect more from you Vance. Let's just enjoy October baseball and let this other crap not ruin it. That goes for both sides.
  8. I don't know about the rest, but for last nights homer, Albert deserved to enjoy every second of that. I think it was Reggie Jackson that said "When you hit a ball that far, you have to take a second to admire it"
  9. I'm just glad the Cards aren't going to lose without a fight. A loss last night would have been a bitter bitter end to a great season. Now we'll see if they can win 2 at home against 2 of the best pitchers in baseball. Momentum lasts till the next team does something big. Usually in the first couple innings of the next game...
  10. But we hope the good posters make up for the bad ones. This is just another chance for me to thank you for a great forum Tim.
  11. I need to fact check, but while I was trying not to pass out from yelling, did I hear this right. The Astros were 81-1 when leading after 8 this year?
  12. Even if they lose this series I am proud of this team. That was the most amazing 9th inning I've ever seen. I'm going to go pass out now....
  13. The Cardinals are losing because the Astros are playing mistake free baseball and the Cards aren't hitting.
  14. OK, Sedgwick's tomorrow at 3:00! I'll be wearing a St. Louis Browns hat. (I mention it so Truffle can find me to kick my butt) ;) Hopefully I'll meet some of you folks tomorrow. GO CARDS!!! (we need this one tomorrow)
  15. I do think replay should be instuted for close calls. What could someone possibly have against making sure the correct call is made? Someone would have to call for it. The umps probably wouldn't because of thier egos, and I don't know how well letting opposing managers replay things would go over, but you'd have to have someone in charge of replays who would call for one on a play like this and then have the umps look at it and review. i agree with you. Situations like these are why baseball needs some form of a replay system for real close calls. Robot Umpires!!! NOW!!!
  16. Because God hates the Cubs. Eveyone knows that... ;) Crazy call. Denkinger has company now. Denkinger won't have company if the Halos win this series anyway. Scioscia won't let his team dwell on the call. The Angels will still win the series in seven just like I said before the series began. Maybe, but I don't think so. The Angels are gonna run outta gas soon. This game might be a series killer for them. On the other series, I told everyone at work today the whoever won game 1 was going to win the series. Looking like Cards/Sox to me!
  17. Because God hates the Cubs. Eveyone knows that... ;) Crazy call. Denkinger has company now.
  18. I care. Just on the edge of my seat watching it. ;)
  19. Now that it's NLCS time, we need to organize a place to watch the games. Let's get this going for Game 3 this weekend. Sedgwick's seemed to be the place of preference last year.
  20. CC Sabathia will make David Wells look Super Model thin in a couple years.
  21. Hatred by some. Healthy respect for most. Same is true for me and the Astros.
  22. Cards Sox Angels Houston I would love to see a Cards/Sox series. Chicago deserves to have a World Series. I would love to see what the town is like during one. That said, the Angels are a very good team with a lot of players I can respect. Anyone but the Astros for obvious reasons.
  23. ESPN is going to show World Series highlights 15 hours a day for the next 3 weeks. Of course they'll be World Series of Poker highlights. This morning on the drive to work, it was all about the Yankees losing and not the Angels winning...
  24. I've said it several times here, I like this board. If I wanted to talk about how great Pujols is all day I can go to cardstalk and have 100 people agree with me. I post here and get good opinions from well educated "baseball" fans 90% of the time. I know this is a Cubs board, but I think of it as a lot more than just that. I live on the North Side, and I'm a huge baseball fan, so I feel very at home here. Oh yeah, GO CARDS!!! ;)
  25. 5-0 on a Sanders rbi double. He just set the record with 10 rbi for the series. I think it might be safe to go to bed in a couple innings if this keeps up. I hate to see Woody get smacked around so bad, but I'll take the win if they get it...
