  1. Nothing on a national level, for the Midwest U Il, WI, Ia and MN. Carlson is signable, fwiw.
  2. I also like David Peterson amongst the college arms in the that range. But it sounds like both Canning and Peterson will be gone by 27, though. Like Regular Show, I'm intrigued by the top two JC arms. Pearson and Little are intriguing, Little has one of the best curves in the draft, great FB/curve combo. Pearson touches 99, flashes +breaking ball. Both are raw with no 3rd pitch and lack of command. I don't know their philosophy as far as drafting collegiate players with control issues.
  3. He doesn't have a feel for anything. It's going to be a battle.
  4. It is concerning, I would not be opposed to him but he has a lower floor than I what I feels fits their need of a TOR guy which that lack of velo hurts Greinke.
  5. It's frustrating that two pitchers I'd want the Cubs to pursue the most (Quintana/Cole) won't likely be on the table because of baseball etiquette.
  6. I just don't see any college arms in the 20-35 range minus Canning I like. Maybe if they draft Schmidt on the cheap at 30, let him recover from TJS and go from there. With that said, I really like Ramos at 30 if he's there. I also have a soft spot for Hans Crouse but there's a better chance of the Bulls drafting him in June than the Cubs.
  7. At this point, I would not want to offer more than a 1 year deal for Arrieta.
  8. I'm doing well, just tired. Thanks for all the congrats! Congrats Raisin. Here's to a lefty!
  9. Turns out someone apparently fired it from outside the park into the air and the bullet fell and hit her on the way down. Yeehaw. As idiotic as shooting a gun into the sky already is, I can't even imagine how stupid you'd have to be to do it near a mass gathering of potentially 40k+ people. Jesus. I don't know how likely a bullet coming back down is to kill someone after air resistance and stuff gets a hold of it, but still.
  10. That's amusing. His breaking ball was definitely his third best pitch last year and all the major publications said it was inconsistent from appearance to appearance last year (but flashed plus potential). That's probably where the separation is. One sees 2 out of 10 curves that flash plus and grade it as fringe. One basis it solely on those 2 plus pitches. At this point, I prefer to grade it on potential rather than overall results.
  11. I guess that's why he don't throw many breaking balls.
  12. Eflin had given up 10 hits thru 19IP. If he goes 5IP at this pace, he'll have given up 15 hits this game!
  13. Addy! Thank you Philly for having their version of Schwarbs in RF.
  14. Meh, he wasn't even leaning the wrong way just too far off the bag.
  15. I am always leery of when teams have a young primary C, the immediate reaction is to get a veteran regardless of cost or production. There was some luck involved with Ross' production, more times than not you'll get Jeff Mathis production which explains why he is still playing.
  16. Hopefully, he'll be strong enough defensively to where he'll secure the back-up role at a much cheaper rate than Montero. (Not that Montero is good defensively either) but his value is much higher as a backup C rather than some much poorer offensive version of Schwarber or a Tyler Houston clone needing them to carry another C.
  17. As much as I despise him, I would love to see a Mic on Lackey.
  18. What's been wrong with him today? I mean, he gave up a solo homer in Cincy. One hanging breaking ball and Almora on the bench is all I have.
  19. Need to protect Almora against the tough righties. The famous Eric Karros defense vs Choi.
  20. Remember how Doug Davis would have a 4-0 1.25 era vs. the Cubs and a 2-14 +6 era vs. everyone else? That horsefeathers don't happen anymore.
  21. A plate full of dongs even makes Skyline chili taste better.
  22. Is it wrong to gain great pleasure knowing how much that would horsefeather off Cardinal fans? Not as much as the combo of Jay/Almora > Fowler in WAR.
