  1. Why keep Stephenson in the pen when you have Arroyo starting? Who knew going from 65 to 66 wins was important in the grand scheme.
  2. His bat path is much better this year as he was very choppy last year, it's staying in the zone longer. There's still not a lot of loft to his swing but his timing and path are much improved.
  3. 665-1 directv now does not have channel numbers Use a VPN with MLB.TV.
  4. It's the right thing. I have no idea how Maddon in is going to handle Strop and Rondon.
  5. I hope MLB.TV changes the commercials throughout the year
  6. Didn't we do that last year? I don't might mixing it up a little. Mine as well .
  7. If there's any struggle with Lester, you pull him. Hopefully, they can get 6 from him.
  8. I think they'll get to Martinez next inning. Mechanically, he was flying open more that inning.
  9. This is weird not feeling anxiety before a season or despair. The rare seasons they were good heading into the season you wondered how Baker would screw it up and how they had to win despite him. 84', 89' , 98', 01' proved to be one year anomalies that faded as quickly as they arrived. Those flukish years masked terrible baseball. Now, the Cubs have one of the youngest and productive cores in MLB with the best FO and manager in place. It's great to watch pressure free baseball. Last year was more of a relief than anything more about my grandfather, my father, past suffering, etc. This season is about enjoying the best product we'll ever see in our lives and just that.
  10. I like the hire. Two solid hires for U of I and IU.
  11. I still got KU winning it all. Whoever comes out of it whether it's UK, KU, or UNC will win it.
  12. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/after-2-years-of-rehab-and-tlc-cubs-to-unleash-100-mph-cease/amp/
  13. My team has some talented players especially young exempt arms.
  14. I'm OK if they bring back Hoyer. I'd be happy with Harmon. The draft is loaded with TE's, I think I prefer that route. Stills is young, but I think I'm a "no" on him. I like Cordarelle enough as a returner to put up with him as a 3/4 WR. I guess Holmes is a ST guy too, but I don't know enough about him. I'm in the acceptance stage with Hoyer, but if he is the presumed starter (no Watson/Trubisky @3), I might just watch the Bears defense on Sundays. I can't wait for KC to cut Foles.
  15. I'm assuming Evan White? _____ I still don't love Kevin Smith. Seen him a few times, definitely understand the intrigue, but that seems awfully high to me. _____ I'm biased for UVA, but I really wouldn't be surprised if Derek Casey finally got going and jumped up lists this year. He had TJ last year, but he had electric stuff out of high school. Should get a chance to be the Friday starter for UVA. Yep, I really like White.
  16. It's a fair placement for Skoug. I'm biased but White should be about 10 spots higher.
  17. He was an incredible scout. One of the few to survive from the Hendry regime.
  18. I was lucky to learn under him and the older area scouts (Cann, Couston, Hale, Otto). I've known him for ever 10 years. I've never met a scout with as many players in the majors as him. He loved this game. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. The Cubs just lost a valuable piece and the best scout I've known. Even though we butted heads, I'll miss him.
