  1. the wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round...
  2. it just keeps getting better and better...
  3. Normally he would've, but he's cautious about re-injuring the hammy.
  4. "The pressure is on them this year; all the expectations are on them. We're just going out and having fun." -- Ryan Braun, July 27 Love the new carefree comedy routine, Braun. Last night's exceeded my expectations; how about an encore? Hopefully we get another nice outing from Demp, and the bats stay hot. Keep it rolling, boys!
  5. Tonight was much bigger for the Brewers than the Cubs, I'm glad we took it. Now we leave Milwaukee, at worst, -1. But I expect much better. It's early to tell, but most pleasing was the plate approach looked markedly better. We'd been getting some guys on against the Marlins, and did a decent job against CC. Glad to see that pitch count up on both him and Torres. The Brewer's bullpen progression should be interesting tomorrow night.
  6. Woohoo! Nice job! Before anyone gets too giggly, don't forget, we still have to face that unbeatable dude the Crew just traded for. Er, uh, oh wait... ;)
  7. I never said it had to go more than 90 feet.
  8. don't let 'em off the hook with anything less than one more, please.
  9. cheers, clapping, foot stomping! keep adding, nothing is safe.
  10. Sori with the BB. I'll take that as a positive omen.
  11. My hope is that the past two or three weeks were our Dunkirk. We still have a 1 game lead. May tonight begin Operation Overlord! Sunday's results were big. Split now, and leave Milwaukee with the lead intact. Lose 3, and we're only down 1, still in contact. Take 3 of 4... and suddenly we're back in the driver's seat. For all the recent angst about the bats, I think the key will be our starters. If we can get some more solid, quality starts, we should be OK. We had men on base throughout the Marlins series; the key hits just weren't dropping. So Mr. Lilly, if ever you were going to revert to '07 form, today would be a fine day to do so. Stealing the first game would be huge. Go Cubs!
  12. Someone needs to fill the role of the fifth starter slighted because he's left off the playoff roster. Tough to find someone with as much experience at that this time of year.
  13. Man, for a guy who cautioned about getting "giggly" earlier in the season, Lou sounded like a kid with a new puppy in his postgame. Hope this keeps up and he can be a second option for Lou in the pen. It would be a relief not to have to rely on Marmol with every 7-1 lead.
  14. It's a new day, I suspect the sun will be shining brightly on the Cubs. Unless they close the roof, in which case, not so much. Time to shake off the shackles of mediocrity and return to April-May form. Go Cubs!
  15. Alright, time to take charge of this thing once and for all. A win tonight would be a great start. How about a big fly into the Crawford Boxes, Rammy?!
  16. fwiw, WGN radio (Dave Eanet) this morning has had a mention that the Cubs would make a roster move later today, and Hoffpauir is already in Houston. No mention of who is being sent down. (Apologies for no link, probably no story until it's announced.)
  17. Good to know that the Cubs got an exclamation point, while a once-proud division rival was a sad afterthought.
  18. We have two RHs now. #-o Noted!
