  1. The ineptitude on display by this Bears football team is staggering.
  2. FIRE NAGY NOW! DON'T EVEN LET HIM ON THE TEAM BUS!
  3. I'm on the "Ted Phillips Must Go" bandwagon, so I'm totally for this move. If nothing else, his former-Bear status makes him look good to the fan base.
  4. Burn it down. Burn it all down. Start with Ted Phillips and go completely scorched Earth from there.
  5. Agreed. Fields looks legit. Nagy got help from the refs to lose the game, even though he can do that all on his own.
  6. I've been getting upset at the refereeing in this game, but then I catch myself because wins and losses don't matter. Nagy and Pace need to go. But Ted Phillips should be jettisoned tomorrow. Start from scratch. Let them eat cake! OK, now I'm pissed. Win the horsefeathering game!
  7. The calls have been bs today I've been getting upset at the refereeing in this game, but then I catch myself because wins and losses don't matter. Nagy and Pace need to go. But Ted Phillips should be jettisoned tomorrow. Start from scratch.
  8. If owners aren't ticked off at this statement, there's no hope.
  9. Nagy should stay quarantined just to be on the safe side. Best to stay out for 2 negative tests or April, whichever comes last.
  10. This is pathetic. Unfortunately, I honestly think Bears' ownership could care less about the product on the field. Their focus is on a new stadium deal. They'll be starting from scratch soon... again. George McCaskey will speak firmly and almost believably about how upset he and "The Family" are about the current state of the team. Then they'll go about hiring people who will do things their way instead of the right way. And the cycle will continue. Again... pathetic.
  11. I am no fan of the Hawkeyes, so to see them embarrassed, humiliated and exposed for the frauds they are on national television and in front of their home crowd made me very happy!
  12. Agreed! What was the ump even looking at?
  13. I agree with this. 2005 was brutal but since we won I really don't care. Their fans get on my nerves and occasionally trigger me but at the same time I kind of like having a little sports excitement in town and as much as it sucks when they clobber us the team is super likable. I have no problem pulling for them among what is a pretty unlikable field of teams. Yeah you can't criticize/stereotype all Sox fans as caring way too much about the Cubs and then be that upset at them doing well, especially given how unlikeable the Cubs org is at the moment. If I get a month of the city being excited for games, for people getting together to watch them, etc etc etc....better than pretending to like, latch onto the Braves. If it gets to game 7 and LaRussa blows it in some hilarious way? Awesome. But just give me fun baseball with some semblance of meaningfulness for as long as possible. There are teams I dislike (basically any rival of the Cubs and Bears), fan bases I don't like (White Sox fans, they're insufferable in good times and bad. I live and work among them.) and teams as well as their fans (Cardinals, Brewers, Packers... no explanation necessary). That's just how it works with me. ETA: This White Sox team... minus Tony LaRussa, really is a good group to watch. A lot more enjoyable than the 2005 version.
  14. If it were just the White Sox players? Yes. But unfortunately they're packaged with their fan base. Therefore, their fans' misery must be greater than or equal to mine. And I'm a Cubs fan, so... Lol I hate horsefeathers like this. How thin is your skin? Cubs vs Sox isn’t a real rivalry. Read my post again, clown! It's about their fans, not the players!

  16. The rule is 2 bases from where the runner was at the time of the pitch. Thought maybe there was some discretion when the ball is bouncing away from the wall, deflects off a defender and goes the other direction over the wall. I always understood it as the umpires had discretion about the baserunners as well. I've honestly never seen the umps give home to a runner on first, but if there was ever a time to do it... that was it!
  17. And Astros, don't forget the Astros Basically everyone but the Giants, Braves, and Rays. Thank you for summing up my playoff wants.
  18. This outcome works for me. One down, two (Brewers and White Sox) to go.
  19. You know Frank is a pre-arb player, right? Like that's gonna stop them?
  20. Jed Hoyer says the Chicago Cubs plan to be ‘really active’ in free agency: ‘We want to do it in a thoughtful and intelligent way,’ the team president says. Allow me to translate: "We're going to make lowball offers on a bunch of free agents, shrug our shoulders when they go someplace else and end up signing Frank Schwindel to a multi-year deal. https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/cubs/ct-chicago-cubs-jed-hoyer-free-agency-20210925-2uzcof7kfnejliad3bgxfh4yxi-story.html
  21. Scored more points than the Packers today! :yahoo:
  22. Dammit! Sorta... honestly, like most everyone else, I really don't care about wins and losses anymore.
  23. second post again in dueling game threads! almost as exciting as the game itself!
