    this team is much more talented than their record shows. the entire coaching staff needs to be fired.

    is anyone else just hoping for an extended losing streak here that will ultimately lead to dusty getting canned? i've been optimistic that we've had a shot at the wild card until the past couple days, when i've begun to realize that it's just not happening. the best possible thing that could happen to this team right now is getting a new manager, and the only way i think it will happen is if there's a very long losing streak.

    i'd go a step further and say we'll never make it back to the playoffs with dusty "managing." As I been one of the fans that been saying that the Cubs have a good chance of the WC, I backtrack that statement, and I agree with you. I do not see the Cubs making it to the playoffs, at all. i've been doing the same, but this week has changed my mind.

    i cleared my schedule to watch this game. forget it, now - i'm sick of watching dusty ruin this team. macias with 3 starts in a row is unacceptable for any major league (or aaa, for that matter) club.

    Unfortunately sitting on the bench hinders his development, as he still has some things to work on. If he's not going to get regular playing time, then he should be in AAA. He's only 22. His "develpment" will pickup where it left off when he becomes the Cubs everyday SS in 2006 (?) or beyond. Either he can play or he can't. There are guys who spend their entire career in the minors and never develop into ML quality. this is just ignorant - cedeno has things that need to be worked on, and without regular playing time, he will not be able to do that. he needs to be playing in the majors or be sent down to the minors. I love how you call me ignorant because my opinion differs with yours. That's the best way to get anyone to see your point Met 1-0 on cheap Beltran hit. :roll: i'm not calling you ignorant. your argument, however, ignores the facts. it has nothing to do with a difference in opinion.

    No. The only time I can see Dusty using him is for pinch running. Him and Murton should be sent down and as far away from Dusty as possible. or dusty should be sent as far away from them as possible. Unfortunately the Cubs rarely do what they should do. it's ok jose macias is the center fielder of the future
