Isn't it kind of similar to the Phog? Field house style? it has much more of a high school feel than AFH. Probably because of its size and the crowd size for the games I've been to. Well obviously it isn't going to have the same type atmosphere. I would think the success and tradition of Kansas would make that pretty obvious. It wasn't just an atmosphere thing though. The size and overall vibe were very high school. I thought it felt like a high school gym well before I'd ever been to AFH.

It's mostly that we're scared if he becomes the manager, Cubbette will run onto the field and castrate him with a butcher knife during a pitching change. Really, we just have Ryno's best interests at heart.

Evidence that Sammy is universally considered a jerk? Cause I like and respect him, and I think Hendry's a jerk. I don't get the Sammy love around here. Even when he was crushing, he was a self-centered, egotistical ass when he wasn't blowing kisses to the camera. Are folks just too young to remember Dawson? And I wouldn't call Hendry a jerk. Grossly incompetent, but I've never read any reports that he mistreats players or anyone else or has anything but the best interests of the team in mind. because a lot of us don't care if he was self-absorbed or egotistical. Frankly, I kind of EXPECT superstar athletes to be that way, so i don't get too worked up when that's the case. Would I prefer every player to heave the personality of Hawk or DLee or Dempster? Sure I guess. But I'd rather them be good than nice. We want our team to win. And if running 9 a**holes out there for 162 games racks up wins, then let's do it. As for Hendry, I've got no personal beef with the guy. I just want him as far away from my favorite baseball tam's front office as humanly possible. -
I'm not sure why the NCAA hasn't just set up a permanent location in the SE yet. Heh, it feels good to me seeing John Blake get bad ink. Ah, John Blake. The only reason I got to see KU have a 3 game winning streak over OU in football.

I had some guarded optimism for this season, largely because we got the weak south rotation in the last year of the imbalanced Big 12 season. But man, so far everything that could go wrong has. Our best DT was kicked off the team. One of our top DE's was kicked off the team. Our starting right tackle is out for the season. Another starting OL broke his foot, though he should be good to go by season's start. Still, he'll miss a lot of practice. A freshman LB broke his foot. And now rumors that our top LB is out for the season. Dline and LB are two positions where we are paper thin to begin with.

I don't understand why people get all pissy about how Bowden was "given the boot" at FSU, like it was some travesty of injustice. That school should compete for national titles. Instead, they were struggling to even win the ACC. And they've slipped far behind Florida in national name and prestige. It was time for him to go.
