  1. Were the White Sox expected to be good this year? Are they good? I know they have a great record, but their offense is pretty dismal. I don't follow them closely enough to know if it's expected to get better or what.
  2. where on facebook?
  3. Is anyone else's MLB.tv account super choppy?
  4. Just thought I'd share these thoughts written on facebook by a super bitter Sox fan I know. "First of all I'm sorry Schwerber got hurt. Funny thing though I've searched the media and haven't found one single person say 1) why did St. Theo pick a catcher who he knew couldn't catch at the ML level and 2) why did Joe (the best manager in baseball) Maddon have this kid in left where he doesn't know what he's doing? Should have stuck the mime out there. I'm just saying..."
  5. My next door neighbor played with Schwarbs at IU and is waiting on a text back right now. Go ahead and forward him my post. Just as good.
  6. Guys, good news. I've given it a lot of thought, and I've decided he's going to be fine. Positivity! He'll miss 6-8 weeks max. Feel free to come back and heart this post when this post is confirmed.
  7. I was a bouncer for like five years. Your post sounds like the ramblings of every guy I had to kick out who was drunk AF but convinced he either wasn't or that there was no way I could tell he was because he was acting "perfectly fine." Thanks for the input, dude, but I'm not that guy. I've never been kicked out of anything in my life. I've never had a DUI. I would be willing to bet that I drink less frequently than most people on this forum. I just tend to be a little bit snobby when it comes to what I put in my body, that's all. I'm not saying you're the kind of guy who gets kicked out of bars. I'm saying you're the kind of guy who, when he's drunk, thinks he's not acting drunk and slurring his words when he really is. So you're basically like almost every other drunk person. You say that's not true, yet you also say you can taste the difference between Belvedere vodka and Barton vodka after your 18th drink, so forgive me if I'm skeptical.
  8. Yours was definitely better; I didn't see it until after I made mine. At first I was really embarrassed, but then I nutchecked some kid from the Glee Club right in front of his fat, nerd girlfriend, and I felt better.
  9. I am known for having extremely sharp senses. I've actually wondered if I might be a "supertaster" or whatever. If you think I'm snobby when it comes to booze, don't even get me started on food. maybe you're spiderman
  10. took the words out of my mouth oh and it gives him a dirty buzz, but NOPE not drunk This is not rocket science. Your body processes alcohol at a rate of about 1 drink per hour on average. When you are drinking beer that is only 4-5% alcohol, this means that you aren't going to get very drunk unless you are slamming beers really fast. You can drink 8 beers over an 8 hour period and just maintain that same low-level buzz. And, I mean, is it really that hard to believe that a person can tell the difference between top shelf alcohol and cheap domestic beer? I'm not making any extraordinary claims here. I never said I don't get drunk off of top shelf liquor. What I'm saying is that when you drink higher quality alcohol, the euphoria to impairment ratio is much more favorable. By euphoria, I pretty much mean "being drunk". When you drink higher quality alcohol, you get just as drunk, except you are not as impaired. You don't slur your words as much, and you aren't as confused. Sorry if you guys think I'm being uppity. I was a bouncer for like five years. Your post sounds like the ramblings of every guy I had to kick out who was drunk AF but convinced he either wasn't or that there was no way I could tell he was because he was acting "perfectly fine."
  11. Twolves came back from 17 down to beat Golden State in OT...at Golden State.
  12. This ESPN broadcast crew finds itself very amusing.
  13. really got excited when butler was up on uva. now, not so much. I'm pulling for you guys. I'd like the remaining conference teams to perform well, though not so well that we have to play either of them again.
  14. We're bricking balls so badly, the caroms are starting run-outs for UConn.
  15. This might be the laziest hidden pro prank I've ever seen. Seriously. I'm surprised they didn't have him come out in a Cubs/Bryant jersey.
  16. Big 12 really showing how it's the best conference. Will any team make it to the second weekend?
  17. Gonna be awesome losing to UConn in the second round.
  18. Those three fanbases will definitely travel. abuck, are you sensing an impending Big 12 faceplant like I am?
  19. I'm a huge puzzy, but I feel like KU didn't get a lot of favors in their bracket. Uconn in second round, ugh. Maryland as a 5. also ugh.
  20. that was a helluva shot. Not looking forward to playing that hackfest team tomorrow.
  21. I'll admit to not having followed them all that closely this year but all 3 of the rankings bukie linked to in the OP, especially kenpom have them amongst the top 25ish teams in the country. Kenpom has them 11th kenpom loves WSU. But their tournament resume is pretty bad. Here are their numbers using both RPI and KENPOM vs RPI Top- 25: 1-0 50: 1-4 75: 1-5 100: 4-7 101-200: 8-1 201-300: 7-0 vs 301+: 4-0 best RPI wins: 8, at 84, at 89 worst RPI losses: at 121, vs 84, at 84 SOS rank: #107 vs KenPom Top- 25: 1-1 50: 1-3 75: 1-4 100: 4-7 101-200: 11-1 201-300: 6-0 vs 301+: 2-0 best KenPom wins: 25, at 76, 76 worst KenPom losses: at 115, 90, at 81 SOS Rank: #115 Only one top 75 win using either metric. Only 4 top 100 wins using either metric. Not sure the MVC is a two bid league, personally. Don't see much that dazzles me on that resume. Looks like they feasted on a ton of cupcakes. That said, I don't follow all of cbb closely enough to really participate in this kind of thing, so maybe that's actually a strong resume this year. I'd assumed a team with barely any legit wins in a weak league that they won't win would be on the outside looking in.
  22. I'm surprised to see you guys putting Wichita St. as definitely in. Very, very weak resume imo.
  23. always fun beating the clones. Not sure how that team has 8 conference losses though.
