  1. Busch Light, Old Style, PBR and Keystone are all battling it out for dominance in the shallow gene pool market. You can go straight to hell for lumping PBR in there Hipster? It's just by far the best of the cheapies and doesn't deserve to be equated to the Busch Lites of the world. hahah what?
  2. Yeah, that's not going to happen. But who knows what might shake down if the super conferences come to fruition. I like that Swarbrick has been keeping tight with Texas. There are worse allies to have in cfb. Come to think of it, it's probably kind of hard for ND to pass up the chance to play Baylor, KU, ISU, and KSU in football on an annual basis. I think ND is coming.
  3. Yeah, that's not going to happen. But who knows what might shake down if the super conferences come to fruition. I like that Swarbrick has been keeping tight with Texas. There are worse allies to have in cfb. ND and UT don't have to worry about anything. They don't need allies. They can get into any conference they want.
  4. lol @ ND joining the Big 12. The alumni would melt down.
  5. Who do you gotta bang to get tickets to this game? assuming this is a Kurtis Townsend, pornstar joke, 7.9 4.1
  6. The lockout is giving KU the chance to put on a pretty cool exhibition game with former players. Paul Pierce, Darrell Arthur, Mario Chalmers, Kirk Hinrich, Nick Collison, Drew Gooden, Josh Selby and the Morrii will be among the players who come. Larry Brown to be an honorary coach. Hopefully some recruits can come for it. http://aol.sportingnews.com/nba/story/2011-08-23/paul-pierce-larry-brown-headline-star-studded-kansas-exhibition
  7. Hollandsworth is probably jacking off while formulating his "Castro never misses that play if Ramirez had gone to the All-Star game" argument.
  8. No, but it was a terrible word choice.
  9. I can't believe MLB has that as one of their posted highlights.
  10. Do you have any pictures of him that aren't distorted by a funhouse mirror?
  11. Georgetown hoops is overseas playing a Chinese team. Evidently, a huge brawl broke out. Link includes video. http://www.slamonline.com/online/news-rumors/other-news/2011/08/georgetown-and-chinese-team-have-ugly-brawl/ Here's an article on it w/ pics. http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/colleges/fight-ends-georgetown-basketball-exhibition-in-china/2011/08/18/gIQAs1zeNJ_story.html
  12. Someone explain to me how these guys are getting off scott free? They got meals, hotel rooms. Arthur Brown allegedly got cash payments. All from a school's booster. Yet they're in the free and clear? How is this different from Josh Selby taking $ from a family friend? Or Jake Pullen/Curtis Kelly, all who got suspended? What about Dez Bryant? All he did was lie about where he ate lunch, and he was forced to sit out the whole year.
  13. It read like more than just a few team managers/equipment guys. Wasn't the head basketball coach implicated?
  14. random question: could players like Rix and Tebow sue him, seeing as he was offering money to incur injury?
  15. That argument was completely incoherent. It made absolutely no sense. He knew it, too, which is why he devolved into simply pandering to the fanbase, telling them how great they are and how they deserve a title more than anything. What a [expletive] joke. The problem is you know it worked for 85% of the fanbase. Well, that 85% probably was already on his side, this just reinforced their support. I'm not sure he knew the argument made no sense. The guy went right into baseball after high school. He's not all that educated and it seemed to me he believe what he was saying. He defended it, poorly, but he defended it nonetheless. He's just a dumb guy who buys into the rah-rah nature of the sport and probably has a lot of jealousy toward players who were much better than he ever was. You could be right. And that's even scarier. Because presumably, he had a chance to formulate his argument. It's not like this was just sprung on him. Yet this is what he came up with (paraphrased): •I wasn't basing my argument on whether ARam is a good clubhouse presence by time spent in the clubhouse. We here at this great network CSN cover half the ball games, and I'm usually here in studio. •I want to build a lasting franchise. That's what we want to see. ARam is not one of those cornerstone guys I want to build around. •Why not? Ramirez skipped the All-Star game. During this crappy season where nothing has gone right, Ramirez had a chance to be a bright spot but instead "told me and all the rest of Cub Nation he had other plans and it wasn't gonna work out." •If you don't think that's a poor reflection on the young guys on your team, you're kidding yourself. •You talk about changing the culture, changing how things are run, and building a winning franchise. Skipping the All-Star game is an act that can't be tolerated. •I get paid to give my opinion, and that's my opinion. I love this team, organization, and fanbase. They deserve a championship. I came from a winner because I wanted to win here. I had tons of other options. This is where I wanted to win it because this fanbase DESERVES it.

  17. This is what happens when sports writers try to be funny.
  18. I'd like to hear Hollandsworth respond to ARam's last sentence. Dude bitches about ARam not making the players around him better. Well how come he never took ARam under his wing and tried to make him a "better leader"?
  19. it's weird to be excited about Cubs baseball in any capacity these days.
  20. MSPaint aTm to SEC. The shot at Ole Miss is priceless. http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=2208&tid=161406671&mid=161406671&sid=880&style=2 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/snoodmonger1/sec1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/snoodmonger1/sec2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/snoodmonger1/sec3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/snoodmonger1/sec4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/snoodmonger1/sec5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/snoodmonger1/sec6.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/snoodmonger1/sec7.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/snoodmonger1/sec8a.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/snoodmonger1/sec98.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/snoodmonger1/sec10.jpg
  21. does brian kelly have an alibi? i doubt it. Yes. he was at the Indiana State Fair when it happened.
  22. I don't think today's announcement really means anything. It seems more like a "we're interested and aTm's interested, now everyone needs to get their legal ducks in a row to make this actually happen."
  23. Quade's not stupid. He knows that he is going to get fired after the season, so winning a few extra games looks better for him. Hendry should have promised him a spot in the organization if he let the kids play the rest of the way. If quade won't do what's right for the organization now that the season is in the dumps because he wants to milk 5 more wins for his resume, then there's no reason to keep him any longer. Fire him now; don't wait till the fall.
  24. etc We have the worst fanbase.
