  1. what are you asking?
  2. There's a lot of basketball talent in Texas.
  3. I think this is going to happen. Not good, I really don't want Self to get his foot back in inside of Chicago. I think he's more likely to end up at UK than KU if he leaves. I also don't understand why he'll suddenly be a less effective recruiter at KU/UK than he was at UI. I think KU ends up w Norm Roberts again. But who knows.
  4. That sucks. Oh well go get your head coaching career started Jerrance. Did he take a HC job, or is he just not remaining at UI?
  5. Sad to see him go, but happy he's getting his big break. He really worked magic w our bigs.
  6. Sounds great to me. I like the hire but there's a lot of SIU fans that are pissed off about it. I thought Bruce was going to decline the job for money and his friendship with Lowery, so I wasn't holding out hope for that. At least we'll get back to respectability eventually. I think Hinson is a pretty decent coach. He got jobbed once or twice at Missouri St. by not getting into the tourney. His career record is pretty good. I hope he does well there.
  7. What Kansas senior is he related to? I wonder if Hinson turned down the UI job too.
  8. If he's got extra recruiting cash, Weis could use it. Enough cash to lure recruits to KU football? Who do you think he is, Warren Buffet? Fantastic Freudian slip there. lol, didn't know it required two Ts

  10. one of the funniest things i've ever seen Hard to believe a team that handled winning with such grace and composure face-planted in the tourney.
  11. yeah, especially when bruce weber own you I didn't realize the Drake job was open. so not even 2 weeks after norfolk state before you feel good enough about yourself to talk trash again. good for you. way to get back up and dust yourself off...shows resolve. They don't care about that loss. Winning the Big 12 tourney was all that mattered. http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/999599/dance.gif
  12. Sounds like Barry Hinson to SIU. He's been KU's director of operations the last few years and done a great job. He'll be missed. Maybe Self will give him a low-level sorcerer, 3 briefcases of recruiting cash, and a Helms title banner to help him get started at his new gig.
  13. that would be me. kamala's head on xavier henry's body. he's from parts unknown. That's amazing. and who can forget his handler, kim-chee? im so glad you called that guy out on the McDonald's coffee suit. They were all thinking the antagonization was over, and you totally switched gears and hit them from a new angle.
  14. you have to admit, the caning was a bit overboard.
  15. why would anyone from anywhere? the advantage illinois has is that it has access to illinois recruits that schools that aren't the blue-bloods don't. the question that you really want to ask is why would a top illinois recruit go out of state to a school that isn't a blue-blood? furthermore, illinois was (is?) in on jabari parker because the coaches have been in on him since the beginning. the advantage here is that the coaches can build relationships with potential recruits at a younger age. that's an advantage that not even duke has. hearing parker talk, the kid has some loyalty to the state, as well. why do you need to be the coach at the in-state school to be able to build relationships with those kids at an early age? Couldn't any coach do that just as easily? they could, but not just as easily. bill self isn't going to waste his time recruiting some kid in 8th grade when he can swoop in and get another kid, just as talented, from another state in 12th grade. he's got a dump truck and a wizard, why would he need to have dinner with some family in joliet if he's not even sure that kid will be playing at a high level in 4 years? the illini can do these things. because who doesn't love writing off a dinner as a business expense? Especially in Joliet?

  17. just to fan the flames a bit... A poster on another board I visit said Bruce Pearl was on the radio discussing college hoops. Here's that poster's summary of Bruce discussing the UI job:
  18. And the quality of the coaching in the Big 12 declines even more. Self, Huggins, the Mayor and Kruger are all above average or better. Barnes and Drew are awful, but they get great players. Ford is bad. I have no idea who or what coaches TCU. Gillespie is overrated, imo.
  19. Seriously, what a lot of unlikable goons this turned out to be(and I'd have preferred Baylor to OSU). I never really thought we'd make it to Zou Orleans this year.
  20. Basically competing to be uk's sacrificial lamb. Here we go again. Oh poor you, you guys just can't compete. I'm not really bagging on my team. I've watched UK this tournament. They're head and shoulders above everyone else. Would love a shot at them, but I'm realistic. It would take an amazing game from us to beat them.
  21. Happened to us vs ucla in 2007. San Jose != home game for UCLA. It's 350 miles away from Westwood. C'mon, dude. You don't think a location in california--even Norcal--isn't a home court advantage for UCLA over a team from Kansas?
