  1. Why, what did the Big 12 do to Mizzou besides give them a home for however many years and fill their coffers? The Big 12 did a lot more for Missouri than Missouri (0 titles in any meaningful sport) did for the Big 12. Even when Missouri wins, they embarrass themselves. That's certainly one interpretation of the events. Another might be that Mizzou was never given equal treatment in the Big 12, scapegoated when half the conference looked elsewhere, then repeatedly and publicly disparaged when they decided to leave. It's no surprise that there's hurt feelings. lol

  4. you stay classy, tom He's scared we will get a coach in here that makes us relevant again. Can't blame him. did you see the Jack Lyman article on scout RE: Bruce's dismissal? Made every excuse in the book to justify Weber's performance. I'm sure BW is a nice guy, but it's weird how some people really latched on to him, especially the local writers.
  5. Haven't you heard, he goes by marksman now. Marksman. haha, were they calling him that all game? I only saw from the point we were down 65-62, and brent must've used the word 5 times at least since then.
  6. well it'll suck if that cost us a one, but I'm more concerned about where we get sent. I want the Omaha/StL set up. It would be frustrating if losing to the #11 team on a neutral court set us back that much.
  7. can't believe we let that honky beat us
  8. bah. needed a stop there.
  9. so if KU loses, do they drop to a 2 seed?
  10. we're usually pretty sloppy in the first round of the conf tourney. wouldn't surprise me if we lost.
  11. Josiah Turner suspended for the rest of the season at AU, and most think he's gone for good. Man, what a bust. I was really pissed when we missed out on him.
  12. Oops. Thomas Robinson is 6'10". And the difference between 6'10" and 7'0" is enormous, right? you're the first person I've heard describe Trob as a 7 foot defensive stud. He's probably 6'8"-6'9". And this year, we've done everything possible to protect him from playing D.
  13. There's a lot of inference going on here, starting with the idea that I thought Haith should've won hands down. I really don't care who won (though I think Hoiberg was a fine choice); I was simply laughing at the wink-wink, nod-nod to Bill Self. Big 12 solidarity! As for KU's preseason outlook, it's a nice idea that, against all odds, Bill Self took a bunch of guys who didn't play that much last year and steered them to a No. 1 seed while not having a couple of expected contributors, but he wasn't working with scrubs. Again, he's got one five-star and four four-star recruits in his lineup. They have two seven-footers, both defensive studs. The only team in the conference with talent on par is Baylor. On what planet was KU at some sort of disadvantage this season? your posts make you sound like a whiny baby. And we only have one 7 foot defensive stud. Not even sure who else you're talking about. But you're right. It was all a huge conspiracy against Mizzou. KU actually has the most talented roster in college basketball, and anything less than a one seed and final four run with this group of future NBA HOFers would be a disaster. Illiniguy, i thought you were joking about inviting Fijitiger here to post.
  14. I sound butt hurt because I'm...right? Right about what? Your opinion that Haith deserved an award that is subjectively awarded? Or your opinion that the Big 12 coaches formed a conspiracy to give the award to anyone but Mizzou? Personally, I don't think it's as cut and dry as you have it drawn out. Sure, KU was picked by the coaches (along w aTm) to win it. Personally, I think it was more out of respect. KU had won 7 straight, and there was no clear cut best team (although if Baylor had any other coach, they would have been the clear cut best on paper.) So they gave it to KU because it was theirs to lose. They also cast their votes before McLemore and Traylor were declared ineligible. I'm sure that impacted their vote. Missouri returned all its starters from a tournament team, though they did lose Bowers after the fact. KU returned 1 starter, one key reserve (who is now a candidate for NPOY), and three guys who averaged 14, 10, and 6 mpg last year. Two of those guys have been unable to stay healthy for a full season. They also have two former walkons getting big minutes. Most of the press did not pick KU to win the league. Dickie V said 5th place I believe. Your boy Drunko DeArmond said we had no shot at the league. We won it by two games. Personally, I would have no beef if Haith had won it. I know Self voted for him. But to act like Self winning it over Haith is some crime against humanity makes you sound petty and whiny.
  15. the only one who sounds "butt hurt" is you. But you're right. Hoiberg deserved it.
  16. Why does the 1st team have 10 guys on it? And could those 10 guys beat the top five from any other conference?
  17. Here's a fun montage of Austin Rivers traveling. And here's a great breakdown of Duke/UNC floppiness. http://www.barstoolu.com/#random-thoughts/duke-vs-unc-summed-up-in-152-youtube-seconds/
  18. Don't make me get fijitiger up in here. i think this board has enough crazy already
  19. gypsies ETA: And thanks for giving me appropriate reason to celebrate your tourney loss this year. something tells me you didn't really need a reason to celebrate it. Well, I'd have celebrated, but directly to you. Now you'll be getting PMs and facebook messages. If I can find the results of the CBI, I'll reciprocate.
  20. first of all, that wasn't me. second of all, show me the cancelled check mother-[expletive] All I could find was this. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/snoodmonger1/weber2.jpg Also, lol @ NSBB's word filter.

  22. I've tried my hardest not to bring it up, but there were tons of UI fans on here who told me Weber was a better coach than Self a few years ago. Oops.
  23. Martin ball would be well suited to the Big 10. He's recruited okay to KSU, considering that town is an absolute dump. It should be a lot easier to recruit to UI. He'd need some Chicago connections on his staff.
  24. He's solid, imo, but I don't think LH is the kind of guy who can take a program to the next level. He's pretty good at building programs.
