  1. Travis hafner for Walk? Seriously, what kind of deal do you think we could put together w/ them?
  2. AJ P Beckett Jeff Kent Clemens Edmonds M. Morris Juan Gonzales
  3. 40-15, KU. Forgive the continual updates RE: a game no one cares about. This doesn't happen every day. (Not since 1968).
  4. KU up 33-15 in the 4th over Nebraska. Barring a total collapse, our almost 40 year winless streak vs the Huskers will be over. When does Callahan start getting nervous about his job in Lincoln?
  5. Here are a few of the truly historical events that occurred in Wrigley (most courtesy of wikipedia) •Babe's called shot. •Homer in the gloaming. •Pete Rose tied Ty Cobb's record. •Sosa surpassed Maris •Wood's 20K game •Lou Gehrig hits grand slam to win high school all-star game. •Gayle Sayers rushes for six touchdowns. •3 all-star games •8/8/88--Cubs are the last team to install lights. •The other first night game--7/1/43--All-American Girls Professional Baseball League plays night baseball in Wrigley. •The Bartman game.
  6. Williams, Hill, Hairston for Dunn? Williams, Wuertz for Huff? Hill, Mitre for Klesko? Williams, Hill, Welly for Burrell + Cash? Williams, Mitre for Mike Cameron? I know Williams is in almost all of these, but he has the most value. Don't want Klesko or Cameron. Not sure the Reds would give up Dunn for that little. Same with Burrell.
  7. I agree with whoever said that Hendry might be ignoring Giles because there's no reciprocated interest. if that's the case, it makes sense to get another arm (AJ) and then use our surplus (Williams, Mitre, Hill, Guzman, etc.) to try and trade for an OF bat. the question is, what legitimate bat could we get with what we've got to trade?
  8. Not purposely caused clubhouse problems, purposely made errors. That's right. I knew it was something. Sorry for the inaccurate reporting.
  9. Production aside, sheff scares me. Wasn't he the one who purposely caused clubhouse problems with MIL so he'd be traded to a different team? Or at least, wasn't that a widely accepted rumor? If so, I'd prefer to stay away.
  10. True, but at least it seems to go a lot farther than 100m+ Owned.
  11. Sorry, don't knowhow I missed that one no need for sarcasm. I wasn't being sarcastic. I was actually apologizing I was just kidding. And no need for apologies. There's no reason for a KU football game to be on anyone's radar unless they're opponent is good, and the 'Huskers aren't waht they used to be.
  12. Here at Mizzou, we've come to the conclusion that kU is not worthy of capitalization. I think you guys just don't understand the rules. It's funny, our students newspapers have even taken on the idea of not capitalizing the k in kU. That is a pretty good picture you have in your sig, but I don't know if it tops the one that I used to have of the two kU basketball players where one was bent over. That one was pretty funny. I saw a similar one with a mizzou player in the same position with a KU player. I wasn't sure who exactly was being insulted if I posted that, so I just left it alone.
  13. Yeah, until Prior blows out his elbow shaking some chick's espresso martini.
  14. Here at Mizzou, we've come to the conclusion that kU is not worthy of capitalization. I think you guys just don't understand the rules.
  15. why don't you capitalize the k in KU? Is that supposed to be a diss or something?
  16. Sorry, don't knowhow I missed that one no need for sarcasm.
  17. hyperbole If Prior, Z and Wood are all healthy, the Cubs can beat anyone. And if Prior returns to old form, too. The prior of the second half of the season won't be enough.
  18. You forgot to add that KU has a semi-realistic chance to break it's 36-year-long losing streak to Nebraska.
  19. If Nomar wants to extend his career, he ought to stay at 3rd. Of course, that would preclude him from signing w/ the Cubs, but I thought he was more than adequate there, especially if you're willing to sacrifice a little pop at one of the corner positions.
  20. That's why you have to love Cubs management. they have no qualms with bidding wars. Even when when it's with themselves.
  21. Modzilla has 126 posts. Is that also his body count?
  22. heeeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaaas theeeeeeeeeeeeeeee abilityyyyyyyyyyyyyy tooooooooooooooo waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit do you not even read what has been said hundreds of times about this? wood's wife is from chicago. he said, when he got the contract, he wanted the ntc so he could stay there. why would he waive it to go to the mets? you'd find it hard to get him to waive it to go back home to texas, i think - the mets are out of the question. Players always say stuff like that. "This is my home, now. I never want to leave it." And guess what? Two years later, they're gone. Half the time, they're not being honest when they say it anyway. It's a more of a PR thing. "This is my dream job," etc. Wood is no different. He said it at the time. That doesn't mean: a. he can't change his mind. b. he really meant it in the first place.
  23. Another way to look at it optimistically: Historically, 100% of the White Sox World Championships have been followed by the Cubs at least making the World Series the very next year. 1906, Sox win the World Series; 1907, Cubs win the World Series. 1917, Sox win the World Series; 1918, Cubs make the World Series (although they lose to the Red Sox). 2005, Sox win the World Series; 2006 :?: What an odd fact.
