This is the last time I'll address the KU schedule. A few things: A) When scheduled, CMU and Toledo were not the pushovers they ended up being. I know, it's not like we caught ND in a down cycle, but small conference champions have challenged us in the past. In fact, we lost to Toledo last year. B) Don't bitch to KU about our conference schedule. We didn't choose it. Bitch to the Big XII. C) Please stop saying they "scheduled their way to a BCS bowl." To me, that implies KU made that schedule with its eye on the Orange Bowl, and that's ludicrous. Plain and simple, KU was trying to schedule its way to a bowl. Any bowl. We've been struggling to recover from the Terry Allen era, and Mangino/Perkins realized the best way to do that was to get a few 7-9 win seasons under our belt and build from there. Even then, when I predicted 8-9 wins at the start of the season, I was laughed at. But whaddya know, we found a very good QB on our roster, and we shored up our secondary, and Nebraska fell off the map, and stuff just skyballed out of control, and we won 11 games. But if anyone seriously thinks KU was banking on being 2 games away from the NC game, they're smoking crack. That's why I see tOSU's schedule as FAR more egregious. That is a perennial powerhouse team. They will have now played for the title 3 times since 2002. They had no business scheduling the teams they did. They DID schedule their way to the title game. KU just stumbled its way into a dream season. Anyway, it sucks for all the Mizzou fans out there. Yeah, they deserved it more than us. But you should have thought of that when you applied to a school no one likes. Stuff like this will happen. Because crazy stuff like this (and tyus edney, and the fifth down, and that Nebraska receiver kicking the ball to his teammate on the final play) will always happen to you. Because God hates your school.
