  1. OU has to be absolutely kicking themselves. What a collapse. I didn't see the game. Did the kid deserve the tech that kicked off the run?
  2. Boy, ISU was KU's best friend this last week. Lost 2 games to allow KU to keep a one game lead in the conference, then beat OU to ensure we get a share of the title. Thanks Clones!
  3. The officiating was terrible the whole game. I'll take that one as payback for juwan Staten getting to run to the basket from half court without dribbling and lay it in against us. On a side note, Illinois really dodged a bullet with Cliff Alexander. Not only has he been really erratic all season, now his eligibility is up in the air.
  4. The Big 12 is just a bunch of pretty good teams that will be lucky to get to the second weekend.
  5. I was just in the uncomfortable position of rooting for Scott Drew.
  6. They do still have to go to Norman. i assume they'll lose that one, but iowa st (baylor, @ kstate, oklahoma, @ tcu) will also drop at least one more meaning kansas will at least share the title with iowa st. very happy kstate beat kansas yesterday, but now i'm concerned about iowa st's trip to manhattan on Saturday. At this point, we'll be lucky to get a tie. ISU is playing about 30x better than us and could very easily run the table. KU will almost certainly lose at OU, and they way we're playing, neither UT or WVU at home is a gimme. There's no way KSU puts together another game like that to beat ISU. That game meant everything to their fans, their players, their coach, their school. Such a weird culture there. Really runs on hate. Even their AD's apology press release for that absurd display at the end included gloating shots at KU.
  7. lol, of course we lose @ Kstate when they've looked like a high school team for two weeks.
  8. winning on the road in the B12 is [expletive] hard. Did you see the final play? Staten literally spun at the 3pt line and drove to the hoop without ever dribbling. no call. We gave up like 64 offensive rebounds (and blew the game winning layup), so at the end of the day, the loss was still on us, but Jesus. Reffing is just so bad in CBB. Link here if you want to see Staten do the Charleston before driving to the hoop.
  9. gave away another game. Could've more or less put the conference away.
  10. Just a terrible performance by KU. Up 11 to a crappy OSU, gave the game away.
  11. Is it any worse than college BB?
  12. The thing that KU does that no one else in the conference can seem to figure out is win consistently on the road. A couple of other teams (ISU, OSU, KSU) defend their home court very well. But they scuffle so much on the road. It's very surprising for me in ISU's case because Hoiberg is such a good coach. (Part of it is talent, obviously. KU gets better talent than anyone, though Baylor and Texas occasionally get more. They just have horrible coaches.) The next couple of games will be critical for KU. We will lose a couple on the road this year, no question. I've more or less penciled in @WVU as a loss. We need to win @OKST and @Ttech. Those are winnable road games, but we've really struggled to win at those places over the last few years.
  13. I just finished the game. I know the exact double travel play you're talking about. Hard to believe there were no calls there. Dejean Jones was pretty invisible. I'll be glad to see Niang gone, whenever that happens. Eliminating the transition was big. KU definitely dominated the game in the half court. Really had their way with ISU tonight. Maybe ISU should press us all game long. WVU is gonna be a scary game for KU.
  14. Good to see Andrew Wiggins playing so well. He went after LeBron tonight.
  15. It's also a block from Historic House Where Snoodmonger Grew Up. I must have missed the plaque. If you ever go to Nevin's, look for the plaque that says "Snoodmonger used to be a 'bouncer' here." If I name drop you think I can get a free drink? Lol, I worked there a long time ago. I doubt anyone I worked with is still there.

  17. Welsh-Ryan is in the middle of a neighborhood, so there aren't really a lot of fun drinking options within walking distance. With that said, you have a few choices: If parking or taking Metra to Central: + Bluestone + Ten Mile House (haven't been -- just opened but supposedly good) Parking isn't that bad for non-football events. It's inexpensive to pay at the stadium and you can usually find a way to park for free in the neighborhood (Evanston side, south of central). If you get there late you may have to park west of Green Bay. There are long-term parking meters near the Central Metra station and if you get lucky you can use them. I'd honestly recommend taking the L if you can, stopping at Davis, having a few beers, and then heading to Central on the L (or even Ubering if you are so inclined). By approx. distance from L/Metra at Davis: + World of Beer + Bat 17 + Bar Louie + Bangers and Lace + JT's + Prairie Moon + Nevin's I'll be driving down from MKE so the L wouldn't be an option. I'll probably find parking and try out Ten Mile House or Bluestone so I can have a couple and not have to worry about finding parking right before the game. Is Bluestone more restaurant than bar? Thanks for the info! Ah, gotcha. Bluestone is a casual bar and grill with a bit of a sports flair given where it is. There is a separate bar area, too. Food is about what you'd expect from a bar and grill: not something you'd seek out but solid nonetheless. It's also a block from Historic House Where Snoodmonger Grew Up.
  18. He killed us. The way the announcers talked, I thought he'd been playing well all season.
  19. Wow. And 6/31 from three for you guys. Where was that last Saturday? Def a huge loss for ISU in the conference race.
  20. Huge road win for KU. By far the best game we've played all season IMO.
  21. That's awesome for DePaul. It would be nice to see them become decent.
  22. He looked lost vs ISU. Can't guard those perimeter bigs. Hopefully it's clicking for him. He needs to have Oubre-like development ASAP for us. I agree he didn't look great, but i'd take my chances on him figuring it out over the course of the game vs playing that doughy dunk receptacle lucas. lol, I agree 1000 percent. Lucas is not good. Maybe he'll be useful as someone to try and lean on that fat center from Texas, but otherwise he's slow, he has stone hands, and he has the reflexes of an elderly person who just suffered a stroke.

  24. Up 20 at half, gonna lose. At home. [expletive] awful.
