  1. I think Demp taking a hometown discount is very plausible, but I'm not quite as confident as everyone here that he'll do it. Same with Wood. Wood especially has been pretty upstanding about taking care of the team that has taken care of him. But in my opinion, he's square now, and I wouldn't blame him at all for seeking out the richest contract available.
  2. I hope you marry her and, several years into your marriage, the resentment from this boils over and instigates a messy, bitter divorce.
  3. He's Thom's dad, of course. The guy the Cubs skipped over for Len, correct? Thom Brennaman? No, he was a Cubs broadcaster(TV & radio) during the early to mid 90's. I think he left because he was working FOX network broadcast too and the Cubs didn't want him to do that. Was it Thom Brennaman or Josh Lewin that Harry allegedly ran off hoping Chip would be hired?
  4. Some blogger on MSNBC's sports is doing a top-25 all-time basketball programs. He's up to #14 (Illinois, which is curiously rated higher than Michigan State.) I already disagree with some of it, but it's still interesting. LINK

  6. I sure hope he's at the very least wearing the high socks still. on what part of his body?
  7. These answers probably say more about you than those you are attempting to distance yourselves from. Am I the only one suprised that goony of all people won't go see a movie alone? I'm surprised he can trick anyone into joining him.
  8. again, its the 1st summer league game. I'm basing that on the three years I watched him play in college, too. Thanks for the tip, though.
  9. Yes. I'm not a pathetic panty-waste who's ability to enjoy himself lies solely in my association with humans.
  10. I guess Chalmers' defense was giving D Rose some problems. The heat got a steal with him in the second round.
  11. Dear Lord, this thread is golden. That's like a bad translation from Fukudome's blog. Sadly, it's a good one from hardcorecubfan's.
  12. I don't think you're full of it RE: your credentials. What I find exceedingly lame is your "I don't even root for the Cubs because their players are mean" thing. If that's true, fine. Your choice. But why continue to post here? Is it because you're full of it, and you still root for the Cubs? Or is it because you're dying to play insider on this message board, regardless of whether you still root for the team? Either way, it's lame. And your petulant, victim schtick is even lamer. Sorry, not everybody agrees with you. And not everybody is going to kiss your ass because you dropped some C-grade insider info with no details. Deal with it. People would probably value your contributions more, though, if you left that enormous chip on your shoulder at the door. And if you quit accusing everybody of some anti-woman conspiracy every time we disagreed with you. How you present your ideas is just as important as what you say. And frankly, your posts need a lot of work in that department.
  13. Will that be part pf the Big XII/Pac-10 Throwdown or whatever the hell it's called, or is this separate? Regardless, that's good news. I'd love to get UK, Duke, or UNC regularly on the schedule, too. Duke will gladly play a home-and-Greensboro series. Maybe a 2 for 1 Home-UC-Home don't be silly we won't even play a 2-for-1 maybe a game in New York or something Can't keep craping out early in the tourny if you actually play some hostile road games to toughen your team up. what we need is a longer bench escpically the big guys You don't need more back-up bigs; you need some quality starters down low.
  14. I'm a little disappointed Brandon Paul hasn't made the big leap that many were expecting from him. I'm getting really excited about Tyler Griffey though I believe scout (at least Bossi from scout) has Paul at 36. That's not bad, and there's plenty of time to climb.
  15. The pre-summer, updated RSCI top 100 is out. http://home.nc.rr.com/rsci/RSCI_100_PreSummer_2009.htm
  16. I missed Georgetown, Cinn, Rutgers, Providence, Louisville, and South Carolina
  17. I missed 6. All BS Big East schools except for South Carolina.
  18. well now you're just trying to give me a boner.
  19. Rivals has it's early rankings of the '09 recruiting class out. Plenty of teams that interest folks on this board cracked the top 25, including Texas, Mich, LSU, OU, Tenn, PSU, ND, and UCLA. MU and KU come in at 26 and 27. If KU holds or moves up, I may very well have a heart attack. http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=823591
  20. All the name ideas I've heard (all fan made, thank god) have been awful. I'm just holding out hope the inspiration for your name and logo will come from a summer blockbuster movie like it did with the Toronto Raptors. The OKC Iron Mans? The Hancocks? The Pandas? Any chance that Chihuahua movie will be huge?
  21. I think Baron could easily find himself with the Clippers. Damn, nostradamus. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3470016
  22. Will that be part pf the Big XII/Pac-10 Throwdown or whatever the hell it's called, or is this separate? Regardless, that's good news. I'd love to get UK, Duke, or UNC regularly on the schedule, too. Not sure, it could be since the UCLA-Texas home-and-home for the Big XII-Pac 10 ends this coming season. I foresee a Raisin/Snood man-date to Pauly coming up. I'll try not to gloat too much when we win. Just like the last time the two teams got together, eh? My memory only goes as far back as this:
