By KU's standards, we've got a pretty good class going. 22 commits. We've won several guys over Nebraska, OK St, even one over Notre Dame. Mangino + the new facilities are really paying dividends. three 4 stars, (the #4 full back in the class, #17 DB, and a 4* JUCO DE) sixteen 3 stars only three 2 stars We kept most of the top talent from in-state excluding the blue chippers who went to OU and Miami. We're looking to add a couple more guys. The one shortcoming is the LB position, which could be a position of need, too.

A strong showing on the road vs Mich St would really make me feel better about KUs chances this season.

Not as badly as you might think, should be a close, competitive game. Although, I think Kansas is the most underrated team in the Big 12 right now. Funny. I think they're a bit overrated, based on name alone. I think they have the pieces to be solid, provided Self can get the kids on the same page. But these guys are young, and it's not like a few years ago when it was a bunch of freshmen who were destined to be NBA players (Rush, Wright, Chalmers + sophs jackson and Kaun). This is a team with one, maybe two clear NBAers on it from my vantage, with several guys who might make it if they continue to improve over the years. I predict a similar final to our Arizona loss.

I was traveling all day, so I missed the KU/UT game, but I'm very excited about the win. If we can sneak out a win against Mich St., It'll be hard to be disappointed in the season so far. Sulley is right that, outside of Collins and Taylor, this is the least athletic KU team I've seen in a while.

Please be Mike Shaw. Or Blackshear. no way that it's blackshear, he's at least going to give self the chance to drive a dump truck full of money up to his house. i would guess shaw. if shaw commits soon, our chances with blackshear will go up significantly. Reading the various boards/interviews I'm pretty confident we get Shaw within a few weeks tops. http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/1137This one makes it sound that way, but also gives more hope involving Blackshear. The most recent update on Blackshear I saw was just a few days ago. Said he'd visited Texas and UI, and he had every intention of taking his time with his recruitment.

Collins tries too hard to take over games. It's already cost us twice this year. I suspect it will continue to do so.

how many 6-6 teams got into bowls? I know a couple of years ago, KU was 6-6 and got passed on.

They started off with a mediocre early schedule and started out good...Lost most of the rest of there games and finished off around .500...So I don't know...They've looked good against some teams and then lost to Iowa 54-0 I think minnesotacubsfan and I should have some kind of avatar bet over this game.

and i see no reason why you can't shut the hell up. I hadn't really seen it from your vantage. haha. but seriously, worry about your own team because i don't think they can beat either of the aforementioned. At this point in the season, it would definitely be dicey. But I think we'll be good by season's end. Hopefully we'll limit the meltdowns and put enough wins together to get into the tourney. And IG, Cole's progress has been pretty amazing hasn't it? It'll be interesting to see how he fares against some bigger frontcourts.

The fact missouri is not only in the top 25 but rated highly in the top 25 in those three rating systems suggests it has serious flaws. I know I'm doing a 180 from my POV earlier in the year when I thought they were good, but I've seen little to suggest they were that good a team They put up a ton of points, but outside of Neb, they lost to every average or above average team the faced. Edit to remove UI from "good" wins for Mizzou. Didn't realize they faceplanted so badly. I guess Buffalo and Nevada had okay seasons, though.
