It really doesn't bother you? Not only was Snyder fielding awful teams by the end of his tenure, but he's about 70 years old and hasn't coached in 4 years. Furthermore, how is he going to recruit any talent there knowing that he's just a placeholder coach? With all the JUCO's they have leaving after next year they might have a 30 man roster in 2010. He also lived and died by his assistants, most of whom are head coaches elsewhere now. I don't like the move. But with the state of disarray that the KSU AD is in, I'm not sure what they could have done. I think this ends badly for the WIldcats.

Hasn't Washington kinda sucked this year? They did lose to Portland, but honestly, it's impossible to assess where KU is right now. Sherron is the only guaranteed stud on the court. Aldrich, while he has potential, is still a Sophomore big who tends to swat down at the ball. If he can stay on the court, board, and score 8-12 points/game, I'd be very happy. After that, it's basically freshmen or sophomores with almost zero game experience. So while Washington might be pretty average, they'll be the first high-major team most of these guys will face. I wouldn't be shocked if the speed of the game put them on their heels.

It's technically hate week right now, I don't want to have to go to the football thread and ask you whether you're going to make the Insight Bowl or not. Back to back bowls, baby! You promised me you wouldn't be a .500 team this year. we still might not be. just have to beat mizzou or our bowl game

yeah, we discussed it a bit already. What's really lame is that he says he went bc his bro is at Memphis. His bro who committed to KU out of High school. His bro who then randomly recruited himself to Memphis without giving KU a second shot. Oh well. I really hope we get Wall. If we do, the pain will diminish greatly.

Not really a suprise. All me buddies here new this was coming. Wanted to play with his brother. They are still hoping for Wall. Yeah, kind of a bummer. Hopefully KU can snag Wall and/or Cheek.

From what I'm reading, KU is getting jobbed a bit by the refs, too. Not that it will matter in the end.

Arkansas to the Big 12 rumor gets floated around every year or two. I've never seen anything to lead me to believe there's any credibility to it.

Was that before UNC offered? They were the last remaining power to offer (somewhat recently) and according to my guy they jumped near the top pretty quickly. The rest of what you said is correct though. A lot of the UNC talk is based on a report from ESPN that was inaccurate, according to the guys on scout. He's already visited the three schools I mentioned. They are the top of the list. But like I said, it's so early, UNC has plenty of time to move to the top. They're just not there yet.

I think the early leaders on Barnes are KU, Florida, and .... Duke maybe? There was a third team. I think it was Duke. The recruiting expert on KU's scout board was just talking about it. EDIT: It was Duke. Those are the three teams that have been on him longest, the recruiting guys say. (Outside of the Iowa schools.) But it's so early, they expect that leader board to get a bit more crowded.
