  1. ugh, here comes last second kobe BS. and apropos of noting, why does this direct tv commercial feature an 8 year old, crappy Planet of the Apes remake?
  2. I honestly can't balme Kobe for complaining after every play. He gets so many cheap fouls, he probably genuinely feels he got fouled on every play.
  3. That 5th foul on Pietrus was such a joke. NBA is so irritating.
  4. I actually kinda like Jalen on ESPN.
  5. right vance, i forgot that if someone doesn't think the way you do, they are wrong No, my point is that it's quiet intellectually dishonest to say that one form of cheating should deny someone of the highest honor and that another form of cheating should be overlooked without some empirical reason for doing so. In a previous post, you admitted to taking greenies. That makes me wonder if you don't vilify those because you have committed the same act, while you condemn ones who have taken another form of cheating. Both steroids and amphetamines can increase performance. Both also can cause health problems. It's not that you're wrong, it's that you are inconsistent. You're trying to argue degrees because it's the only way to support your position. The problem is that there is no evidence other than speculation to support your claim. So, you're welcome to your opinion. If you like having uninformed, ridiculous opinions, be my guest. I'll continue to call them out for being uninformed and ridiculous, but you are welcome to have them. i enjoy your thoughts, can i come to your class on how to think and respond appropriately? The last desperate tactic of someone getting abused in a debate. Well played.
  6. I don't care if his name does come up. Bonds should be in the HOF. So should Clemens and McGwire and Sosa. We need to stop acting like sniveling children in denial and treating this game like it's some kind of pure institution that was tainted by steroids in the 90's and early 00's. sniveling children in denial? no, i prefer to look at it as men that have let many hearts down men that have spit in the face of fair competition men that were already endowed with gifts that were beyond greedy or better yet...put them in the hall...a special corner spot called "PEDS"...i could live with that The HoF is already littered with racists, drug addicts, and cheaters. Get over it. who are the drug addicts? While I'm sure there are a few addicts in the HoF (didn't fergie do coke?), I should have said users. Mike Schmidt, Willie Mays, Willie Stargell, and Ralph Kiner all took greenies with the assumption it would improve their performance. I'm sure plenty more HOFers did, too.

  8. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/Bryce-Harper-punches-his-ticket-to-Cooperstown-a?urn=mlb,167844
  9. Phil Neikro and Gaylord Perry are in the Hall. Sammy oughta be, too. And he will be, but I think it'll take a while.
  10. Missouri's prize recruit, 5* DT/TE Sheldon Richardson, didn't qualify and will play 2 seasons at JUCO while trying to qualify. He left these parting words to any opposing team's fans on his FB.
  11. So he fits in well with Kentucky's history. I think maybe I was a bit wrong about Bruce Weber's recruiting. I'm glad he wasn't cheating to land Rose and Gordon. I wonder now too if what the Illiniboard swears about Kansas is also true? Your logic is impeccable. You're completely right there is no way that Kansas could be involved in any wrong doing. The Collins-Longstreet allegations, the Arthur not really passing high school, and the Darnell Jackson getting paid were all just stories. Poor Bill had no idea any of this was going on. At the very least it probably should raise some eyebrows, but thanks for pointing out that there is nothing to any of it with a well thought out answer. Oh no. You got us. I'll contact the KUAD about getting that banner taken down. I thought we had a chance at getting away with it until you got on the case.

  13. if nene hadn't bitched so much earlier, he might've gotten that call.
  14. man, what a lame tech on Howard.
  15. Don't know about that. It's a great class, but best since Fab 5? Off rankings the only one thats pry close is one of the Duke ones. And most of those guys ratings were pumped up after they committed to Duke. I would say your calss with Chalmers, but wasn't Rush rated oddly because of his age? UK has #1 PG Wall #2 C Cousins #4 C Orton #6 PG Bledsoe #10 SG Hood JC Dodson No doubt, that's a ton of talent. But I don't know if Bledsoe or Orton will see the floor much. I'm curious to see how Orton fits into the system. That KU class you mentioned had 4 five stars, if you include Downs, who transferred. Was it better than this year's UK? Hard to say. Won us a NC. But we had fewer players. Top four is an even draw. Still, I'll give the edge to UK. #1 SF Wright #2 PG Chalmers #4 SF Rush #5 SF Downs The 02 UNC class was damn good, too. I'm hard-pressed to give the edge to UK over this one. But UK does have MORE players, so you could make the argument there. #1 PG Felton #1 SG McCants #5 PF May NR 4* C Byron Sanders The 07 tOSU class was great. Again, not the volume of players as this UK class. #1 C Oden #2 SG Cook #4 PG Conley #8 SF Lighty but what about the 07 UNC class? Same amount of players. Three guys ranked tops at their position. Won a NC. I'd say this was a better class, personally. #1 PG Lawson #1 SG Ellington #1 PF B. Wright #5 C Thompson #11 C Stepheson #18 SF Graves
  16. Don't know about that. It's a great class, but best since Fab 5?
  17. I don't really follow hockey, but this game is pretty fun to watch.
  18. One more, Houston!
  19. I dunno, I can see it. Pullen and Clemente are good guards. They're adding Wally Judge, a 5* power forward. Dominque Sutton has some game. They only lose Darren Kent from last year's team--not that big of a loss. And against all odds, Frank Martin hasn't looked totally overwhelmed every time he stepped on the court. They won 22 games last year. I think they're the second best team in the North and could contend for the 4th in the Big 12. Ranking them 17 is a bit high, but I wouldn't gripe with anyone putting them in the 20-25 range.
  20. KU with a pretty intense non con schedule that includes: - Either Louisville (#21 Rivals) or Memphis at a neutral site in StL (probably Louisville) - @ UCLA (ranked #25 by Jeff Goodman) - @ Tennessee (ranked #14 by Andy Katz, #23 by Jeff Goodman, #13 by Luke Winn, #19 by Rivals) - @ Temple - home vs. Cal (ranked #8 by Andy Katz, #21 by Jeff Goodman, #12 by Luke Winn, #9 by Rivals) - home vs. Michigan at home (ranked #9 by Andy Katz, #20 by Jeff Goodman, #17 by Luke Winn, #14 by Rivals) add that to the conference sched: 2 games vs KSU (#17 Rivals) home vs. Oklahoma (ranked #12 by Andy Katz, #5 by Doug Gottlieb, #19 by Jeff Goodman, #10 by Luke Winn, #12 by Rivals) @ Texas (ranked #3 by Andy Katz, #2 by Doug Gottlieb, #8 by Jeff Goodman, #6 by Luke Winn, #4 by Rivals) @ Texas A&M (ranked #24 by Jeff Goodman, #24 by Luke Winn) Gonna be battle tested.
  21. 101. Got the NFL and MLB. Missed 2 NBA and 19 NHL.
  22. Right when the play happened I said that it wasn't a flagrant-2 and wasn't even a flagrant-1. That's only a F-2 because it was Ron Artest. If Shane Battier does that, it might not even be a F-1. I fully expect the NBA to reduce it to a F-1 and for Artest to be able to play in Game 4. It was a very, very weak call and a bad one. As far as the league wanting the Lakers to advance to the finals, I'd say that could only be argued if Artest does in fact get suspended for Game 4. The play happened with 43 seconds left in the game and the Rockets down eight so it didn't have any effect on the outcome of Game 3. Rondo's play happened in the first half (I believe) so issuing a F-2 definitely affects the outcome of the game. This one was probably just as a precaution considering the outcome of the game wasn't in doubt and knowing that the NBA could overturn it later. The problem is, the two teams are officiated differently. Whether or not Artest is suspended for the next game, one gets the feeling the Lakers can get away with much more. Kobe is seen manhandling Battier after a play, and no action was taken. Artest commits a clean, hard foul during play, and he gets an F2. That's going to play in the minds of the Rockets (and perhaps Artest, though likely he doesn't give a [expletive].) I don't really think there's a league mandate to the refs to screw the Rockets. But for whatever reason, there is a ton on inequity in the way games are called, and it's part of the reason I find the NBA so irritating. (Even though I benefited from it in the Jordan years.) And I sincerely believe in cases where the league reviews plays after games, they'll do everything they can to ensure their best players/teams remain on the court, fairness be damned.
  23. How is THAT play a flagrant 2, and rajon rondo purposely THROWING kirk hinrich into a scorer's table is a flagrant 1? The answer? Because the NBA wants teams like LA and Boston to advance. This league is such a joke.
  24. God, the NBA gives LA special treatment.
  25. watching yao makes me thankful I'm not that big. He's likely doomed to be in pain as an older person.
