  1. And Daniel Orton asking out of UK. W00t. Scout.com's story listed Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, USC ( :-s ), UCLA ( :-s ), Kansas and Memphis as possibilities. Orton supposedly loves KU and Manning. And Manning is very high on him. But I have no idea where he would fit in. We have about 42 big men, we're already over the limit on schollies I think. And if he get X, that would take us out of the running. Still, the Scout national recruiting guru has indicated KU is interested.
  2. ewwww. With Xavier Henry's dad to get hired with him? That's the rumor. Can't blame Pastner if it gets X to stay.
  3. credit to UNC, they've played a hell of a tournament. Makes cornholing them last year even sweeter.
  4. UNC 76 MSU 67 Hope I'm wrong.
  5. Looks like Miller changed his mind and will take the Arizona gig. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/news?slug=dw-miller040609&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
  6. Were you tied to a chair and being tortured? :D Cause thats cruel and unusual punishment if Ive ever seen it haha, KU was in it, and I was bored, so I tuned in.
  7. I watched the women's NIT championship today. I didn't realize the ladies had a 30 second shot clock. I think the men should switch to that, too.
  8. It is if you can hold them to 10 in the second half.
  9. UNC is just working Nova.
  10. i've watched maybe 3 uconn games this year, and in two of them, UCONN has found a way to have someone else shoot Thabeet's FTs for him.
  11. soccer conveniently ignored the point that UNC's upperclass team should be expected to be well ahead of a younger MSU team so early in the season.
  12. Those are two different seasons, though, and I'm assuming some of the players were different. The only difference this time is Suton is there. The other difference is that its a completely new ballgame too which is a pretty big deal. Add in the fact that its for the National Championship, in MSU's backyard, I could see them making up the difference. Like I said Illinois beat Mizzou by 30 or so on a "neutral" court early in the season, I dont think there is a chance in hell that would have happend again around tourney time. Yes its tough to make up a 30 point difference, but the next MSU-UNC game starts 0-0 so that 30 points is meaningless. The first game was in MSU's backyard and that didn't seem to matter at all. And Illinois won by 16 (though they were up by 20 for a little while) over Mizzou the first time. Kansas lost by 2 to Missouri in one game and beat them by 25 in the other.
  13. I understand your point, but you dont think its possible UNC caught MSU on their worst night? I mean that same MSU team that lost by 35 points is giving UConnn a hell of a game, and has already beaten Louisville. I mean Illinois beat Mizzou by around 30 early in the year too, do you think the same woulda been true had they played in the tourney? It's a stupid point. Being blown out doesn't preclude you from competing/winning the second time around. Roy's teams in particular, because of the style they play, are always ahead of the curve early in the season. Add in the fact the team is primarily upperclassmen used to their system, and it's not surprising they boat race so many teams in the non-con. Like I said, I think UNC would win a rematch. But it's hardly out of the realm of possibility for MSU to win.
  14. I am, but only because I think they have a better shot at beating UNC. I like MSU as a team better. I'll be the first one to go out on this limb, but I think Michigan State would beat UNC Monday night. That said, I still think UConn will pull this one out. What makes you think that a second MSU-UNC game would be at least 36 points different than the first time the two teams met? While I don't think MSU would win that game, I hate when people make arguments like that. MSU might have had their worst game in that first meeting. UNC might have played their best. Just because one team got smoked in one game doesn't mean they have no chance in a rematch.

  16. I don't think that's even close to a done deal. His dad says he wants to go to KU. He also says he wants to play w his brother. But his brother doesn't want to sit out a year, which he'd have to do if he transferred. Depending on the hire, they may stay at Memphis. Its very strange. If I was Stephenson I would commit now. Before I'm stuck at a crap school. Agreed. Although I suppose Kentucky might have a slot for him now, assuming Xavier doesn't end up there. And from KU's p.o.v., I'm a bird in the hand kind of guy. Gimme Lance and hope his "attitude problems" are overblown. I don't want another season with Morningstar at the 3.

  18. i guess swinging the elbows isn't a point of emphasis anymore.
  19. the whole idea of Cal bringing his recruits along to Kentucky--especially the ones who signed LOIs--is pretty gross. Has that happened a lot in the past?
  20. I thought you were already over on scholarships? We are. We won't be if Cole and Sherron go pro. There's talk a couple guys might be transferring, too.
  21. How great is UNC if you take away Dean Smith? How great is Duke if you take out Coach K? How great is Kentucky if you take out Coach Rupp? How great is UCLA without Wooden? How good is Kansas without cheating?(sorry, had to put that in there) Did you read my post beyond the first sentence, or were you that anxious to make the dig on Kansas? Did you even read my post or were you just that anxious to get that dig in on me. Coaches make programs. Why the hell would IU be any different? It's the reason KU wanted Self and not just to promote an assistant. Also how long was Knight at IU? 30 years. Yeah I imagine you take away the 30 best years from any school and they probably wouldn't have near the same results. Really not all that hard a thing to figure out. And the Kansas thing, while a dig, is very true. Find me another school who has won a title while on probation. Then after you do that, find the other schools who have won a title, then went directly on probation afterwards. But, that's probably just picking on the Jayhawks. You are so bitter that our program blows the doors off of yours. Sorry dude. Maybe you'll pick up another Final Four in the next fifteen years. Yep, but what part that I put was not a fact?? Both the things we were on probation for gained us little competitive advantage, if any. Heck, the guy we got dinged for in 89 never even played for the team. Bottom line is we got the titles. You'd take 'em in a heartbeat.
  22. come to ku, xavier
