  1. OU's d looks nasty
  2. Heh, who saw this coming? Man I hope we get this one. Bill is due to lose one to us. That last second change of heart certainly doesn't look promising for us.
  3. Looks like Beal won't be going to either school for MM. He's going to see his bro play football at Alabama State or something.
  4. GLANDORF http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/snoodmonger1/Glandorf.jpg
  5. McCoy's girlfriend http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j56/ceedunk/rachel-glandorf-6-450x337-1.jpg she's got to be a happy camper these days http://www.google.com/trends/hottrends?q=rachel+glandorf&date=2009-10-14&sa=X "Glandorf" is a pretty rocking last name.
  6. It's true. Beal will be there along with the entire Chaminade team. This recruitment is going to be pretty interesting going forward, but Self certainly got a big leg up on Weber by inviting the entire team. He pretty much made sure Beal would be in Lawrence by doing that. Also KU's Madness is way sweeter than the one at Illinois. I don't think that entire Chaminade team rumor is accurate. I'm hearing just Beal and his coach.

I have to be honest, I always thought Midnight madness was a bit of a snooze. The scrimmages are always boring, the skits are always lame. The buildup is cool, and when the players come out the first time, it's awesome. After that...kinda boring. I'm surprised Beal came to ours this year since I'm pretty sure he was at ours last season. Can't hurt. I really want that guy.
  8. KU's Rivals site saying Beal will visit KU for late night. Still no confirmation by the more trustworthy (imo) scout site.
  9. McCoy being terrible is a huge overstatement. well being 22nd in pass efficiency, 25th in yards, tied for 27th in TDs, being 25th in interceptions thrown, all while throwing it the sixth most times against absolutely horrible defenses is pretty bad. I don't know how you can spin that into a good thing? http://espn.go.com/college-football/statistics/player/_/stat/passing/sort/collegeQuarterbackRating you've played teams that give up 31.4, 25.8, 21.3, 34.8, and 30 points per game. You've played the easiest schedule in terms of weak defenses out of any of the relevant teams. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/stats/byteam?cat1=defense&cat2=Total&sort=1137&conference=I-A_all&year=2009 Oklahoma is the third best defense in the country only giving up 8 points a game, so this will be your first true game. I just hope Reesing continues to play well enough to garner an invite. Probably a longshot, but it would be cool. I'm not going going to say that i'm more afraid of playing kansas than texas, because it's kansas... But going to play both kansas and nebraska at their places this year is dangerous. Those should both be close games unless kansas acts like they're kansas again and nebraska doesn't think this is the 90's I said somewhere else, this year is probably our best chance at beating OU. I don't think it'll happen, but we've got a shot, especially if Broyles is still out. Oddly, I'll feel much better about our chances if you beat UT. I can't imagine you guys losing 2 in a row to fall below .500.

  11. So you're new to Cody Hawkins then. Watch him go 22-27 for 337 yards and 4 TDs against KU next week.
  12. ISU should have won this game. KU has the worst defense in the Big 12
  13. we're getting manhandled by effing ISU
  14. You guys have the most talent, but I looked at the schedules today and my god, Nebraska's conference schedule is pretty much a joke this year. by button our defense i meant "learn to play" defense. Can Gabbert run a QB draw? If so, you guys have a good chance at beating us. It's like a guaranteed 7 yards. And Neb's schedule is ridiculous. Your guys is pretty good too, especially if Bryant is out for OSU.
  15. If KU doesn't button up its defense and learn to play 4 quarters, we're not winning the North.
  16. If Austin Rivers goes to UF, there's still a good chance he ends up there, too.
  17. I think we can all agree that the real crime is Mizzou being included in the rankings at all.
  18. All it's doing is rating how teams have done over 72 years. What's so hard to understand that Illinois was a superior program to Duke for like the first 50 years of the rankings? Should I be jealous of San Francisco's history? Two different cases, and you know it. SF hasn't been relevant for 40 years or whatever. Duke has almost matched UI in sustained success, and it's done a lot more when it's been successful.
  19. All it's doing is rating how teams have done over 72 years. What's so hard to understand that Illinois was a superior program to Duke for like the first 50 years of the rankings? According to Sagarin's formula. UI over UConn, I guess I can accept, since they've only been relevant for about twenty years. Duke has a history that extends for a long time. I don't care if UI racked up wins in the 40s, 50s, and 60s--that success shouldn't outweigh the success Duke has had from the 60s on. JMO. Nothing to get worked up about. UI over Duke is hardly the only one that made me double take.
  20. the most frustrating thing is that this will be KU's best (and only) chance to beat OU for a long time, and we'll probably still lose.
  21. You would be suprised what fans think. I have friends who prefer KU's history to UCLA's. Laughable. if you include off-the-court history, I can see the KU fans' argument. If you take only on the court results, you have to go with UCLA. The titles speak for themselves. But I'm not trying to make this about UCLA, KU, or UI. there are just some rankings that don't pass the logic test.
  22. There isn't a fan out there who could say with a straight face that they'd prefer UI's history/resume over Duke's. All this listing does (imo) is make me question Sagarin's method.
  23. It's getting even uglier. Bobby was offered a nice "going-away" package in the $5MM range and including staying for 1 more year (so his last game would be a home game), but Jimbo gets final say over everything including coaches (where he would remove the entire staff on the D side of the ball). The major sticking point is that Andrews wants to retire, and Bowden wants Amato as the DC - when Fisher can't stand Amato, going as far as talking Andrews into coming back this year so that Amato wouldn't be the DC. Bobby said "Nope." Now both sides are hunkering down for battle, knowing that Bobby gets a $1MM check when he leaves, and his contract runs out at the end of this year. FSU and the BoT are leaning towards letting him walk away without any second thought. The question is why are they restricting themselves to Jimbo Fisher? Maybe he could thrive without Bowden (I sort of doubt it) but if Weis survives this year, FSU is easily the best job on the market. With Meyer at Florida and Miami plus USF looking strong getting the right coach is critical. One bad hire and you're looking at potentially a decade or longer of mediocrity. I question the Fisher move, too. If FSU weren't married to Fisher, who do you think they should pursue?
  24. a lot of it doesn't really pass the eyeball test. I don't know the math behind it, though.
  25. I guess I have to root for Mizzou, since I think Neb is the more legit contender for the Big 12 N.
