  1. quick Thomas, get out of bounds! I'm through with the guy. easily ould have had the first down there.
  2. Count me surprised. I thought Arkansas was jumping ND for sure. ND is 5 in the human poll and 5 in the puters. Arkansas is 6 in the humand and 9 in the puters. Thats where they get em. Rutgers is #2 in the puters ahead of OSU. which reminds me of why I was irritated with Arkansas earlier in the thread. I thought it was because the leapfrogged the Badgers, but it is because the computers have the Badgers ahead of the Hogs, but the humans have them ahead.
  3. another blatant hold not called in that incompletion on second down (on Wale) Hochuli's crew has been screwing the Bears for years.
  4. can't say I like seeing a blatant block in the back on the openning kick off just ignored.
  5. I'd just go with Soto and save the couple of million.
  6. I don't think the point is ambiguity about who is better. the problem is the polls are based more on incumbancy than on performance. if starting from scratch, with no knowledge of where teams were previously ranked and only looking at performance, the rankings would look nothing like what they do right now, with the exception of 1-2.
  7. All of which would likely beat all the top three Big East teams pretty easily (maybe Auburn wouldn't since they're so inconsistent). Seriously, man, I like the Big East too, but you're getting a tad carried away. That's funny because I look at the polls and don't see any teams that ND beat that even got a vote. Maybe it's you that's getting carried away because I seem to be using facts and your using assumptions. Georgia Tech is in the polls. Opps, you're right. I still think any of the 3 BE teams could beat any SEC team or ND. you do? hmmm. I think that's the first we've heard of your opinion about the Big East.
  8. well I bumped the bad news last night, so I'll bump the good news today. I'm reminded of Dumb and Dumber after Jim Carey sells the van for the scooter. Hendry redeems himself. the sounds of that story is the signing came before the deadline. does this mean the Cubs keep the chance to sign that additional type A?
  9. boy was I wrong. not only am I p'd about not getting OSU this year, the terrible officiating in the UM game is looming larger and larger. I honestly don't think your good enough to be a national title contender, but then again I think you guys have played well enough to deserve a chance to prove that you are. With the Big 10 being as down as it is, you pretty much needed to win all your games to be considered for the title. it's tough to tell, but in all honesty, I don't think they are either. then again, I don't think Florida is but look where they are sitting. they were outplaying UM until an avalanche of terrible calls completely turned the tide and the score of the game around and gave UM all the momentum. they win that game and they are undefeated and probably sitting right where UM is now, regardelss of how good they are.
  10. boy was I wrong. not only am I p'd about not getting OSU this year, the terrible officiating in the UM game is looming larger and larger.
  11. and it works!! Only took 16 minutes to review it 2 times and get the call. Sheesh...a 16-minute stoppage! Do you know why Dixon is out and Leaf is in? I was away on the phone. no idea. I turned it on three plays before the 16 minute review.
  12. and it works!!
  13. only if Arkansas loses. not necessarily. Arkansas will be 7th, maybe 6th at the end of this week. a loss to OSU doesn't necessarily dip UM below 5 (actually they wouldn't dip below 4 because USC would need to lose next week too in order for his scenerio to play out). you have to remember it is Michigan we are talking about. different rules apply for certain teams. so Arkansas doesn't move ahead of them.
  14. so does anyone know the official rule about going out of bounds, because in the NFL it is only a penalty if you are the first one to touch the ball after coming back in bounds. Belotti trying to challenge the challenge. hilarious.
  15. your typing and punctuation are waaaay too good. drink up johnny, you got a long way to go.
  16. bump for those of us who had to search for it to find out why everyone is so fired up.
  17. so I'm looking at the BCS standings and discussing how silly the BCS is on various threads and realize this incredibly frustrating situation. despite having only one loss on the season and having four teams ahead of them lose in week 12, my team, the Wisconsin Badgers, will not move one iota. they will more than likely remain 15 with the four teams that lost today #'s 11-14.
  18. well since WV and LSU are both currently ahead of Rutgers and won their games today, they should be in your picture. I don't think any team in the top 15 other than Wisconsin is exactly eliminated from a shot at the National Championship. I can easily see the Championship game being a rematch of OSU and UM. Florida still has the SEC championship game. Arkansas still has LSU. USC still has Cal and to ice tonights game. ND and SC still have each other. but I think is should be the winner of OSU/UM v. Boise State. that would show just how absurd the BCS is.
  19. shhh. you're going to lend legitimacy to Cuse's argument about the Big East.
  20. Gary Thorn needs to get out of football and either stick with hockey or get into professional wrestling. this is an ugly game. why do the players seem like they are on ice when running? how bad is this field?
  21. what? this is by no means an idictment of you or of U of Arkansas as an institution...but their pom squad is a bunch of hogs.
  22. Weird how Michigan beat Notre Dame, yet somehow if they have both have one loss people think ND deserves to play in the national championship game over Michigan. Once again the BCS makes no sense I don't think there's a single ND fan in the world that thinks ND would deserve it, but it looks like they'd probably get to. ND will be No. 6 next week unless Rutgers or Arkansas passes them in the BCS, No. 5 if KSU holds on. And I don't see OSU/Michigan loser staying high enough to be ahead of ND in that scenario. 42-28. If OSU wins, it means that the computer #1 lost to the computer #2, so Michigans computer ranking won't drop too much (depending on margin of loss), so it will come down to the voters. that being the case, I think they would do for Michigan what they would do for few other teams. instead of playing the stupid game of losses late in the season being more important than losses early in the season, the voters would actually look at their ballot and say "wait, I can't put ND ahead of Michigan after the game early in the year." thus, ND will stay behind UM in all the polls and the computers (depending on the margin of the loss) and remain ahead of ND.
  23. now that I have seen the Arkansas pom squad, I understand the team nickname.
  24. hehe. I ranted at you because I was p'd the Hogs leapfrogged my Badgers. now I come back to see you defending them, so I feel bad. still, should have losts should be considered when these guys vote. When did Arkansas leapfrog Wisconsin? Wisconsin wasn't ranked until Week 7 which was when Arkansas leaped into the rankings with the victory at Auburn. ETA: Also how do you define a should-have-lost game? How many points down do you have to come back from with how much time left? I guess I was mistaken about that too and was thinking about LSU. maybe I was just more exressing anger about the SEC in general. I guess I define should have losts the same way that Supreme Court nominee defined porn. I can't do it, but I know when I see one. I don't want to pick up someone else's argument. I haven't seen any of Arkansas's games. but ND at MSU this year was a should have lost. USC at ND last year was a should have lost. the Bears v. the Cardinals a few weeks ago was a should have lost. I guess when you have your ass handed to you but still win the game, that's a should have lost.
