  1. I really hope U.S. fans get used to the maximum-strength cheering on display today; maybe people won't think so poorly of me when I go bananas at Cubs games in the future. I think my fandom display had some of the Reds fans ready to commit me when the Cubs were in Cincinnati last year.
  2. It's a cruel coincedence that MLB's two worst parks happen to be in Florida. This is deserving of a grander stage, but Pro Player or the Trop would have sucked the life out of the games.
  3. **** you pal. uh, OMK
  4. They just signed the lease on a new DC park, so the Nationals appear to be safe. The teams without viable parks are the ones liable to go: Twins, A's, Marlins, Devil Rays. Take four and move on.
  5. Cowherd is ripping him to shreds as we speak.
  6. Hey Kinsella! 1995 called, they want their betrayed baseball fans back! That was horrible, but I couldn't resist.
  7. da truth
  8. KENT's so great, they flush toilets down his korans.
  9. It's been noted elsewhere that the Sox are heavily subsidizing these games. It started last year as a means of filling leftover Blackhawks slots, and they're doing it again. It's highly unconventional to have so many spring games on TV.
  10. MLB certainly hasn't missed his presence. He's only been hurting himself.
  11. I thought this thread would be a good place to eat crow over the WBC. I mercilessly derided this event initially, but I've really enjoyed the games from Tokyo. I'm looking forward to this week's games.
  12. No.... you can always turn the sound down and tune your AM to Pat & Ron !! Not all of us can. http://www.elementshotel.com/facilities_photo/internet.jpg http://www.finpipe.com/money.gif More like http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y225/southfork76/money.gif

  14. i like to believe the cubs told len he had to say that Probably traded it in exchange for getting the OBP line on the screen. He's selfless like that.
  15. 'really nice job last year' Oh hell.
  16. Ignore it. I used to scalp Cards tickets on eBay all the time. I REALLY wish I had tried this year, all this talk has got me ready for an onsale.
  17. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y225/southfork76/image004.jpg 10/5/03 If that's the best we'll ever get from him, I'll take it, since it's the best I've seen in my time. Still, it's a damn shame if he can't ever come close again.
  18. Tomorrow's onsale is going to be a bloodbath. I encourage the lucky few who come away with tickets to return here and brag immediately. I'm already looking to eBay and the rest.
  19. That's it. The royal/bright red combination just doesn't befit a team with the tradition the Cubs have. It's really the kind of garish color combo you'd expect of an expansion team, or at worse, a Little League squad. A road gray similar to what we have now, trimmed in navy and minus the goofy red cap bill would give the club a more mature presence.
  20. What do you consider largely unaltered? Didn't they do something with the trim and/or the names on the backs? The home names were removed last year. I considered that a minor revision, since it didn't involve colors or logos.
  21. As an aside, this is the longest that the Cubs have gone without major uniform changes since the days of the solid blue road pullovers, '82-'89. The current duds have gone largely unaltered since 1997.
  22. I'd love to trade the royal blue for navy. Here's the navy in 1936. http://www.baseballhalloffame.org/exhibits/online_exhibits/dressed_to_the_nines/images/nl_1936_chicago.gif Looks like the royal blue came into use in '37. http://www.baseballhalloffame.org/exhibits/online_exhibits/dressed_to_the_nines/images/nl_1937_chicago.gif
  23. ZZ. We had da best times discussing Red China.
