  1. No, my claim is that no one who is "300x" the Bears fan than he is a Cubs backer could be expected to wield the kind of hatred for the Sox that you or I have developed. His support is admittedly divided, and his hatred is admittedly divided. I don't approach $10k within the timeframe of one year, but given the amount of money I spend on equipment, services, tickets and travel on a regular basis, I have no doubt that my outlay is an accurate indicator of a bona fide obsession with this team. For the record, I'm on the waiting list for season tickets. Good.
  2. I've been as critical of Baker as anyone and I still think he needs to go, but I don't think anything will make this team any better. Honestly who could win with this bunch of crap? I know I'm beating a dead horse, but Baker is part of the reason that the team is inadequate. He asked for many of the players he has now. He rides he starters too hard - especially in 2003 when Prior was what, 22 years old? Or was he 23? It sickens me that injuries are being used as an excuse when Baker probaby played a part in some of those injuries. I agree completely. Baker's damned fingerprints are all over this descent into basball hell. We'd begun falling even as we celebrated beating the Braves in the NLDS - we just didn't know it yet.
  3. Trade Ramirez? Sure. Baker has taken a promising period of Cubs baseball and flushed it down the toilet. Time to blow it up and start again.
  4. What I know is that I've wanted to see someone slug that bastard for a long time.
  5. Barrett adminsters a blow for all humanity. AJ is a bitch.
  6. If you were so dedicated, you'd live in Chicago. Its a silly argument, but nothing more silly than what you're saying. That makes absolutely no sense. It is silly and stupid. No more so than what he said. Is JR a bigger fan than someone who plops down 10 grand a year for Cubs season tickets? Your replies have little to do with the point of my posts. Didn't you hate the Sox once?
  7. The man you are at work is often the man you are at home. How anyone stands to live with him is a mystery.
  8. Whoa, come on now. A bad manager, yes. A rotten human being, no. He's supposed to be a leader of men, yet his actions show him to be in reality a spineless, doubletalking twit. Dusty is pathetic.
  9. There's no accountability anywhere in the organization. Baker is a rotten human being.
  10. I WOULD NOT EXPECT THE CASUAL CUB FAN TO HARBOR AS MUCH HATRED AND RESENTMENT FOR ANY OF THE CUBS' RIVALS AS A DEVOTED, BORDERLINE MENTALLY ILL FAN SUCH AS MYSELF BURIES DEEP WITHIN HIS HEART. I NEVER ONCE SAID THAT A LACK OF HATRED MADE ONE A LESS-DEDICATED FAN. IN REALITY, MY POINT IS THAT ONE CANNOT APPROACH SUCH BITTERNESS WITHOUT FIRST HAVING ACHIEVED A LEVEL OF DEEP DEDICATION TO THE CUBS. HOWEVER, NOT EVERY DEDICATED FAN CHOOSES TO GO DOWN THE PATH OF DARKNESS. I'M POSTING WITH MY WORK COMPUTER.
  11. It's hard to play nice when a Baker extension is just around the corner. Fans have every right to be despondent. The train wreck isn't going to stop.
  12. Regardless of the Cubs' record, I'll be watching them on September 10. The Bears guys likely won't. Fandom can be easily quantified in situations like this. Fine. Just input a comparative, non-Cubs sports rivalry and go with it. This discussion doesn't necessarily have to involve the Bears.
  13. I think you're missing the point. I'm arguing that my hate for the Sox will obviously be stronger than someone whose primary allegiance lies with the Bears. Conversely, as a Cub fan first and foremost, I don't harbor any ill will toward the Packers.
  14. Don't even try to pretend you're more passionately devoted to the Cubs than anybody who isn't obsessed with hating the White Sox. I'm absolutely more passionately devoted than the guys who claim a stronger allegiance to other teams - that's my point. No, you're not. Get over yourself. Wanna bet?
  15. Don't even try to pretend you're more passionately devoted to the Cubs than anybody who isn't obsessed with hating the White Sox. I'm absolutely more passionately devoted than the guys who claim a stronger allegiance to other teams - that's my point. You can't hate like me if you don't love like me.
  16. Nothing further, your Honor. I don't have contrived hatred for a group of mercenaries who play on the other side of the town either. I care about them about as much as I care about, the Bluejays, for instance. I also like the Bears more than the Cubs. Point is, only the most passionately devoted among us can muster this kind of hate toward an opponent in another league. Bears guys need not apply.
  17. So when do we get the "BAKER FIRED" release?
  18. What a horrible turn of events.
  19. Somebody said Dusty would be fired if the Padres sweep. Blue flag time!
  20. Baker's world of delusion is quickly leading to the creation of J.R.'s world of dementia. Someone has got to be held accountable for the events of the last 2 1/2 years.
  21. Will we ever get some relief? I'd give anything to see a few knee-jerk moves, starting with banishing Baker.
  22. And the beat goes on ...
