    I agree. I may be buying into the hype, but if the DL and OL are only a little better and Williams is as good as he appears they have really good team. The standard deviation of talent is so bunched up in the NFL it only takes a true difference maker to turn a team.

    Very well put. They are running a mid market team with top 5 revenue and paying premium prices to do it. They have what they want to keep Wrigley and their fancy Motel 6 full of out-of-towners. If they hit on some prospects and positive variance they may win another WS.

    To whoever said is Cleveland really good? Yes, yes they are. They are tied for the best record in baseball. That makes them a good team.

    yes, at first it seems preposterous, but after reading the article there is some sense to it. I know TT was all about the double hook. That's not a bad idea if a team wants to yank a pitcher. But also, do everything- Automatic strike zone, lower the mound or move it back, double hook. Just do it all.

    It's a pretty strong 30 IMO. I wish there were one or two more mashers. The Cubs have a lot of bat-to-ball types. I suppose the Hendry days of Dopirak et al. produced nothing so I get it.

    the toughest lesson was that the umpires are painfully inconsistent and the worst possible time. There is no reason for this given the technology available. The game changed on the blown strike three call. I know "it's part of the game" and teams have to be able to overcome bad calls. But it doesn't have to be this way.

    No. I just love those places and the Alps. If it weren't so damn expensive I'd retire in Switzerland.

    One of the most beautiful places in the world. Salzberg, Lugano, and Cortina are three of my favorite places in Europe.
