    I don't see the point of "naming names". These people aren't communists out to do the country ill. At the same time, it is important to clean up the sport. As usual, baseball is handling this terribly. IMO, they should give every player still playing today immunity and carry on with a more rigorous testing standard. Start from ground zero. Finally, I'm not convinced that steroids/HGH HAS NOT had an appreciable impact on the game of baseball. Frankly, I don't know why anyone would think otherwise. It is a simple matter of physics. I do think it will be almost impossible to quantify though.

    Prior does not owe the Cubs anything. Baseball is a business. If the Cubs don't want to pay him what he thinks he's worth he shouldn't sign. It really isn't up to him though, it is entirely up to the Cubs.

    I just finished reading Bruce's article. This is real depressing. ](*,) Hendry seems like a nice guy. He seems like a hard workers. But he is not very good at what he does.

    Army Navy will be played in Baltimore this year. Every once in awhile they move it from Philly.

    I really need someone to explain to me why he could possible interested in Kaz if it is not for a buddy for Fukudome. It makes absolutely no sense to me, especially after trading for Infante. Cedeno Theriot Infante DeRosa Fontenot If they sign Kaz that will be six semi-interchangeable parts and almost half a roster of position players. Obviously, Fontenot probably gets shipped to AAA or traded. Cedeno doesn't have much trade value and they probably won't deal Infante for much the same reason.

    Then maybe he should spend his time convincing Fukudome to not stay in Japan with the Giants That's an idea worth exploring.

    I think the reckless pursuit of Kaz has everything to do with Fukudome and little to do with finding a competent player.

    Which is why they should just give him a shot and let him play. He either adjusts or he doesn't. I tend to think his track record in AAA is more indicative of his potential than his performance in the winter league. Unfortunately, for us and the Cubs Hendry cannot put a quality team together to withstand the inevitable adjustment period that most young players go through when stepping up to the big leagues.

    I hope that is the line-up for Tennessee. I'd love to see that team in person. I see road trips to Nashville, Jackson this summer. Maybe Severville too.

    What about the debate of why we're going after Kaz Matsui to begin with? ](*,) It is almost as if DeRosa doesn't exist at all on the Cubs roster. I really cannot see any other reason to go after The Great Kazou except to lure Fukudome. If the former happens and not the latter that is real bad. If both happens it is just plain bad. If the latter happens and not the former, that is great.

    Bruce, If you are still here, can you tell us the thought process Hendry is using to go after yet another mediocre to terrible middle infielder? I mean, has anyone connected with the Cubs provided a reason why they are targeting such a redundant player?

    The question is why should it be a banned substance? It's a bigger issue than sports though. The puppets that control most legislators want to invade the privacy of the average worker for no good reason. Well, the reason is actually a good one, they can keep wages low and workers scared. I know of no evidence that shows drug testing increases productivity or results in fewer work related accidents. It is however, good for the bottom line especially when the worker has to pay for the drug test. If a guy is doing drugs at work or comes in high, fine fire him. The same is true if he's drinking. But what a person does on his or her own time is their own business and has no bearing on work unless the said drug is a PED.
