    There's a video showing them a few posts up from yours. They look exactly like you'd expect indoor bullpens to look. Like horsefeathers. I don't like them. I wouldn't like to sit in them If I were a relief pitcher. Like a fish in bowl.

    They showed some of the bullpen on the broadcast last night. It was hard to tell, but from what I saw they looked kind of shitty.

    You have to understand that it's good to see the bullpen put in high pressure situations and do well than not have them in high pressure situations, so we don't know. Regardless of the outcome, seeing the bullpen do well is a good thing, no?

    The other memorable game I went to was the game Prior gat hit on the elbow. My girlfriend and I were sitting in the bleachers and you could hear the smack. Wrigley was deathly silent for a good 15 seconds afterwords.

    May 23rd 2004, Cubs vs. Cards. I don't really remember much about the game, but it was one of the best days of my life. I was attending an academic conference and my major professor (who carries a picture of Ernie Banks in his wallet) and I went to the Goose Island Brew Pub to check to make sure that they were set up for a reunion we were having the next night. We sat down at the bar and had a beer. We heard two guys next to us talking about a bus trip Goose Island had for the game. We asked the bar tender and he told us that all the tickets were sold but we could hang out to see if there were any no-shows. About 3 beers later they did have two tickets for us. For $50 a piece we got to go to a private room with an all you can eat all you can drink bar before the game. We did some damage there. Then we got on the bus and had seats in the RF bleachers right in front of Sammy. Great game, Aramas or Sammy homered and the Cubs won. Then after the game they bussed us back and we had more beer. We stumbled back to the hotel and took showers then went with a group of Japanese folks to the Chicago Firehouse restaurant.

    Using Chapman in game 6 like he did was not a reasonable decision. A HR is not a low percentage occurrence given he used Chapman like that. Using Lester in that situation was not a good decision, he could have used another pitcher. It doesn't matter, I supposed. They won. However, I don't understand the backbends to justify terrible managerial decision that Maddon made. If they lost, he would be legendary for stupid decision making, mostly because it is so out of character for him. It's all anyone would have talked about all winter and would be brought up like Bartman and the billy goat every year.

    THAT is the part that I'm concerned about. Maddon isn't admitting that he completely horsefeathers the bed in games 6 and 7. You can't learn from mistakes if you aren't recognizing their existence. Yes. We won the World Series. We were and are all very very pumped. But this board never stuck me a completely results-oriented, ends justify the means, stick-with-what-got-you-there hug fest. Are we seriously going to just repeat "we won the World Series" when Maddon very nearly kept that from happening with gross over-management? I think we've all talked about this before, but I dont underst why he has to admit he made a mistake. It's time to move on.

    Maddon horsefeathers the bed in the world series, it wasn't just about Chapman either, but he's smart and I expect he'll learn from his mistakes. We won, so...

    Him hating them just reinforces how great they actually are. Says the guy who won't wear shorts. They're a novelty and completely cartoonish. When they wear those uniforms they should also have a keg at second base. No one passes until they chug a brewsky.

    It comes as very little surprise that the Cards fan from Pekin, IL thinks this, considering he lives in a town that's high school nickname was the Pekin Chinks until the 1980s. Mouthbreathers.
