Billions are already in their account and they won’t own the Cubs. 1point for me. The Cubs are a nightmare right now and are going to be for the foreseeable future. The Cubs have made the playoffs in 5 of the last 6 years with 3 NLCS appearances and one title. They’re likely going to be favored to win the division again, and if not favored, will have a decent chance. I’m sorry this has been so hard on you. Not if they trade Hendricks and Bryant. Don’t be ridiculous.

You fantasy world sounds like a horsefeathering nightmare. Not to mention his fantasy world has put billions in the Ricketts pocket while leaving the organization in shambles. That’s a strange fantasy unless this is a Todd Ricketts account. Billions are already in their account and they won’t own the Cubs. 1point for me. The Cubs are a nightmare right now and are going to be for the foreseeable future.

My fever dream know is that the Ricketts trade every one, piss off javy and Rizzo to the point that it becomes impossible for them not to say something and Wrigley in 3/4 empty and so is their overpriced hotel. They can’t make payments and have to sell everything. The MLB owners lose their minds and let Cuban buy the team and we start all over. My fantasy world is so, so much better than the real world.

The epitome of class and grace. A hero not only on the baseball field but for civil rights. I cannot imagine how I would behave if I had to go through what he and the generation of Black players went through to get where they were. He was a giant among men.

Yeah, Boozey McFakemustache and his bros didn't give a horsefeathers about this kind of stuff. i don't know. as frat broey as those guys may be, they are far from being idiots. i can't imagine theo would be cool with that type of horsefeathers going on and would just look the other way while something as egregious as a relatively high level employee sending a work contact dick pics is being talked about casually. this was only 4-5 years ago, not 15-20. maybe i'm going too fan boy on this but theo is far from stupid and is, at the very least, well aware of the fact that that would be extremely problematic. it would only be a matter of time before it became a big problem for him. that said, i'm sure some people knew. Theo and Jed seem to be, work hard play hard type of guys. All hires are a reflection of management, but I would have to think that they wouldn't tolerate... nevermind, they traded for Chapman and kept Russell. So yeah, I'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt.

He doesn't have a market because the Ricketts are the worst. Everyone knows they are unloading, so they have no leverage.

The investments they've made in the area were not done by the Cubs, but a separate entity. They are using the Cubs to subsidize all their other ventures. You can not care about it, but it's what caused the trade. The Ricketts are acting like vulture capitalists right now with the Cubs. It matters a lot.

I know this is a bleed post but, the Ricketts family gave millions of dollars to re-elect Trump. I have no time for PTR posts.

Fire sales are not how big market, smart teams operate. I suspect that the Ricketts are using the Cubs to pay down the debt for all their other business ventures, which I think is against the collective bargaining agreement. But baseball is a microcosm of America, so nothing will be done about it.

People will be fine with it because they will say the Cubs were going to suck with or without Yu (no pun intended). But this is the Ricketts work. And it's terrible.

Crowhoppers? I imagine OSU will not like the use of Buckeyes. They are crazy protective and also rabidly craven about all things OSU. to the point of having "The" before Ohio State in all official information. My diploma has "The Ohio State University" on it. I was thinking of Rocks, but that might be too close to Colorado.

As I've suggested before, they should sell the team for an obscene profit. They could keep the rooftops, neighborhood, and luxury hotel and probably make more money when the new owners actually spend enough to have a winning team. They will never sell, because when times are good and they have the leveraged property paid down/off, they have the luxury tax wall they helped to create to keep profit high. The only thing that will hurt them is if the public turns against them and stops showing up to Wrigley. That is not likely to happen anytime soon.
