    Swear to god, there is a cut scene in The Show 22 after a big home run where everyone in the dugout is high fiving and Ross is standing there in the dugout with his hand in the air waiting for someone to give him some love and they are all ignoring him.

    I simmed 20 times. The highest the Cubs drafted was 2 to the lowest was 10, the mode was 6 and the median was 7.

    In a previous life, I was 7th grade social studies teacher in Kalamazoo public schools. My only brush with fame is that I taught his sister US History and geography. I remember when he was drafted and how proud his sister was. I'm pretty sure his dad was a chemist at one of the pharma companies that use to be in Kalamazoo. She was a great kid.

    Don't worry, the Cubs are going to be big spenders next year. That's the new mantra every year.

    Best-case, realistic scenario? He gets a promotion & continues to mash in A+ the rest of this year. Gets added to the 40 man Starts next year at AA and mashes to start the year Gets promoted to AAA in late May / early June and mashes Gets late-season call up to Cubs by end of 2023 However, it's very likely that he hits a hiccup somewhere along the line that delays that timeline. I'm trying to will the Cubs into a generational prospect, I have visions of Dave Winfield in my head.

    Let's say that Alcantara continues on a torrid pace for the rest of this year and then again next year. Could he see the majors by 2023?

    I think they strike out less (anecdotal but I've heard it mentioned on broadcasts) but the weird thing about having significantly worse players on offense is that it doesn't horsefeathering matter if you make contact or not. Just putting the ball in play is not the goal, but it seems to be the philosophy. They don’t work counts either.
