  1. Craziness. UMFan must be having kittens.
  2. i think jed's wet dream is to compete with homegrown players and he's just buying time until 2024-25 when that's possible Yes, Tommy Boy picked the right guy to run his small market franchise. Problem is, they have too many good prospects and no great ones. I have high hopes for Alcantara though. He would be my only “untouchable”.
  3. Michigan does not have a championship QB.
  4. I'm not sure I follow your logic here. What does the size of their signing bonus have to do with anything? Dudes who get $10m bonuses can buy a home in whatever horsefeathers Texas/Florida suburb they grew up in and be set for life more or less, so less incentive to settle for security sake. Guys who get smaller bonuses burn through them and have motivation to accept smaller guarantees earlier. That makes a little more sense, but I still don’t buy it.

  6. Intelligence, foresight, imagination, creativity, and culture. Some things that Jed Hoyer and his team sorely lack.
  7. Can’t see it being the Cubs. Too close to the LT now I think As has been mentioned a lot, I don’t think they’d be against going over the LT this year for the right guy/moves. With all the money falling off after the year they could easily reset next year while having room to add. The only reason not to be in on Correa would be if this medical issue is really that big of a worry, which don’t blame them, or if they truly think they can get Ohtani next year and will wait until then to go over the LT. Nobody has said they are adverse to going over the LT, they try and not be repeaters but I’d be surprised if they aren’t over the LT in the next 3 years. According to reports the Cubs never made him a formal offer so I don’t think they’re interested at all.

    NFL Week 16

I know Rodgers is a first class A-hole, but man is he a great QB. I’d take him over Brady any day.
  9. I will cut you, sir! Zobrist is a player every other prospect gets compared to and no one’s been even kinda sorta close (like every soft tossing lefty in the 2000s was the next Glavine) Being like Zobrist and being Zobrist are not the same thing. He has more value due to his versatility probably until he hits arbitration or demonstrates he is unable to adjust at the plate. Also, not every other prospect gets compared to Zobrist.
  10. I consider Morel in the mold of Zobrist. He's plenty valuable and should not be traded unless it's for a star-quality player. He can fill multiple positions adequately and he's likely to be league-average or maybe a little worse at the plate for all the positions. His value is hard to quantify.
  11. horsefeathers yea! I love it. Cohen blowing the lid off the poverty claims by these [expletive] owners. Also, I don’t think this will end well.
  12. For Derwood. https://theathletic.com/4018954/2022/12/20/ohio-state-buckeyes-football-fandom-perfection-terror/ Perfectly capture the lunatics in Columbus.
  13. I don't know or think I know more than you, but there is no reason to be happy with a Tucker Barnhart signing, so you shouldn't be happy with one. They do need another catcher and he will do. That's it. No reason to be happy about it. Contreras is clearly the better player but he's not in a cub uniform any longer for reasons that only Jed and his team understand. Hopefully, Aymia will show he's ready at some point this season, but I think the ship has sailed on him being a star-quality player.
  14. I agree. I'm a casual observer and don't get to watch a Bears game every week. Fields clearly improved from the last time I saw the Bears. He was mostly very impressive. However, he is inaccurate in the short passes that a good high school quarterback could make. It has to be a mental thing. I'm not sure if the receivers are where they are supposed to be or what, but it looks like he picks a spot and throws to the spot instead of where the receiver is positioned.
  15. Great example of Fields legs creating an easy touchdown for his arm.
  16. As I was watch the one and very likely only soccer game I will see for the next four years I was thinking the same thing.
  17. Not a good series after the INT.
  18. Fields is special.
  19. I will like it a lot if the Cubs nab Conforto and Mancini. That would make successful offseason, IMO obviously.
  20. It was Turner, Correra, Swanson for me. Going home with choice three is better than going home alone.
  21. I just saw that the Red Sox DFA'd Jeter Downs and they're a sneaky good fit for Madrigal. I wonder how close Madrigal for Houck gets you, considering they don't seem to have interest in making him a SP again and they certainly aren't relying on him for late innings given the addition of Jansen/Martin and his back surgery last fall. Yes please Houck, Luzardo…pulling a 95+ pre-FA SP candidate sure would be nice…AJ Puk’s working out for a shot to start this offseason…Matt Brash…Adrian Morejon, Ryan Weathers is 94…Someone Seriously, who the horsefeathers would want to trade for Nick Madrigal for anyone with any value to a major league team? I mean, I know we are grasping at straws but this is not even a straw. By this time next year he will be playing in Asia.
  22. The price of poker just went up, gentleman.
  23. Scarecrow and Mrs. King.
  24. Running the ball and defense is winning games in the NFL rn I would say you are embarrassing yourself but I don't think that is possible.
