I'd be all for that, but I don't know how much value Madrigal has. He can't stay healthy, has no defensive value, and has no power. He's like a 1970s early 80s-era 2nd baseman.

This has nothing to do with anything about Sanders and football for the most part. When he played for the Braves I was in college. I and a couple of friends got bleacher tickets for the game. Needless to say, we were giving him a hard time for most of the game. It was mostly in good fun. He was even jawing back and forth with us. In the 8th inning, one of my friends asked him to throw us a ball after warm-ups between innings. He ran towards the infield with the ball and from just behind 2nd base he threw the ball completely out of Wrigley and then said, go get it. He was/is a remarkable athlete. I think he's very smart and if he gets good players whatever coaching deficiencies he has can be masked to an extent.

When they expand the playoffs they have to make it more objective somehow. Like the winners of the big 5 conferences + 2nd place for those conferences, +2 wildcards. I don't know how to determine the wildcards. They need to try and force ND into a conference. If they were in the ACC, they'd probably make it 7 out of 10 years. 2nd place being whoever loses the conf champ or the highest ranked left in each? Whoever loses the championship game.

Swanson is a marginal upgrade and makes Madrigal redundant. That's a good thing, but the price seems high for the improvement. I'm not against it. I still think he signs back with Atlanta. I'm preparing for an eventuality where the Cubs don't sign any of the SS.

See one of the things I really love about expanded playoffs is that it guarantees that a G5 team gets into the playoffs. This does something that has never happened before in college football - every team conceivably has a chance to win a championship. Always bugged me that 75% of college football teams had 0 chance of winning a title entering every year. Sure we will almost certainly never see a Sun Belt team win a national championship, but they have a route now. In your proposal, this technically is true too but 90% of the time its going to be Notre Dame. I think I've said this before, but they should have multiple championships. There is little chance a team who wins the MAC or Sun Belt, or C-USA is going to play a competitive game against the 2nd place team in the SEC or any of the other major conferences. I don't know how it would be named Major Division National Championship Mid Division National Championship Minor Divison Nattional Championship So on.

A lot of the fanbase is not happy with the hire. They don't like the calling hooker stuff. There was a report this morning that Auburn wrote into the contract that he cannot tweet or post on social media without approval from the university. I think they boxed him in pretty well and lowballed him on salary. But if he starts winning all that will go by the wayside. They love their faux Christian coaches down here. He's definitely slimy, but so is Pearl. In Alabama, every rule and law is a suggestion or meant for other people.

I don’t mind not signing Abreu. I think Mervis is the real thing, but I’m really hoping they target a legitimate #1 starter and another good starter. I don’t really know what to think about CF. A lot of money and not a lot of production out there. Obviously Turner or Correra would be great too. Turner first for me.

The jury is still out on Poles, but he will really have to nail this upcoming draft and free agency period because the Bears have next to nothing outside of RB, QB, and S. They basically need 15-18 starting players.

I only got to see the 2nd half of the UM/OSU game. I’d say they made a statement. The close win against Illinois really helped I think. This is the best coaching performance in Harbaugh’s tenure. Hat off to him.

If you wear a jersey of the other team and you’re a guy you will get spit on multiple times. If you’re a female you’re name will be whore for the day. I’m just scratching the surface here. They aren’t fans, they’re anti-fans. They don’t love OSU as much as they hate the team they are playing. I've lived here for 15 years and have never seen any of this behavior. Reminds me of when the B1G first went to divisions and Iowa/Purdue was the protected rivalry game and everyone on both sides was confused. Closest team in your division...somewhat similar competitive levels. Where I live it is almost as close to Purdue as it is to Champaign and there is a fair amount of Purdue fans around. I think Purdue's style of "play" in the game this year against Illinois is going to create some resentment if it continues in the future In-state normally comes first. Purdue-Indiana, that's the rivalry. One thing I always found amusing when I was at OSU was how much they horsefeathering hate Michigan. I mean hate. Well, they hate everyone who isn't OSU, but the hate for Michigan is on another level. In Ann Arbor, they recognize OSU as their biggest challenge, but the stronger dislike is for MSU. However, similar to ND in Ann Arbor they generally consider themselves above everyone all the time about everything. Some not jokingly, compare UM to Harvard and MIT. They sell t-shirts that say; Harvard, Michigan of the East. I've never seen a worse college atmosphere than Columbus in terms of perspective on what college sports are. I live in Alabama and there are definitely some nutters at Auburn and in Tuscolusa, but it is nothing compared to Columbus.
