  1. Brown working 95 in the first.
  2. When Ross gets to about .500 over the course of 100 games in one-run games, we can revisit.
  3. People like to assert that close losses are due to bad luck. Maybe there is some portion of the outcome that is due to luck. However, when a phenomenon occurs repeatedly in a system, luck is not the variable of importance because it cannot be controlled. Other controllable variables are important. Ross is the decision maker and more times than not his decisions have negatively affected the outcome. Luck is an empty box one can place blame but it mutes discussion of variables that are amenable to control. The long view is that they are losing winnable games that count.
  4. A good manager doesn't do that in a close game. This isn't 1982. Ross has a bad habit of letting his pitchers throw until failure.
  5. I hope Horton blows threw high A, so we can see him pitch with sticky balls. er, that didn't come out the right way.
  6. Maybe in August, but probably not again this season.
  7. It's not the same circumstances. Assad was on his 4th inning in a close game.
  8. Really tired of Ross letting every pitcher throw to failure. You can take a guy out before he gives up runs.
  9. Didn’t see a thread up. Game starts in 40 minutes. It would be great if our Cobs could get the bats going again.
  10. The entire FV stuff is a house of cards and shouldn't be taken as seriously as it is.
  11. Was he the big bonus catcher that came in way overweight?
  12. Big day for Blackhawks! I swear to god that I saw something on Twitter two days ago that said the Blackhawks had the 1st pick. I don't pay much attention, so I thought it already happened.
  13. On MLB.tv they do a good job of syncing the radio broadcast with the video
  14. I don't know horsefeathers about horsefeathers. But just for fun, I'll do a top 5 1. Alcantara 2. Brown 3, Horton 4. PCA 5. Wicks
  15. I understand, but they have to start planning for the future and Amaya is not a young prospect. I know you said you want him to have a good season so they can trade him, but I'd rather they see if they have a good combination of all the softer skills they seem to covet and decent offensive production. Those days are long, long over for Barnhart. Amaya is in the same position as Morel for me. They are both good enough to be on the team but are blocked. Neither of them will garner equal or potential equal value in a trade at the deadline, but maybe in the offseason.
  16. Cubs have to find a way to get rid of Barnhart ASAP and let Amaya learn from Gomes.
  17. Schumacher pulled a Ross and left his starter in too long.
  18. Ross is not the guy to lead the next good Cubs team.
