  1. i should have bet someone.
  2. Mets buying prospects for ten's of millions of dollars. Not dumb if you don't mind spending the money.
  3. Brisby is the best Grant Brisbee: Rich Hill is old enough to have thoughts and opinions on Mr. Roper versus Mr. Furley. He played the original Star Wars arcade game and marveled at how futuristic the graphics looked. He’s worn at least one Hypercolor T-shirt in his life, and he’s recorded mix tapes directly from the radio on his boombox. But he can still spin it. Have curveball, will travel.
  4. Verlander was traded to the Astros.
  5. It kind of sounds like they are trying to find enough cash to make a bigger trade and not go over the luxury tax.
  6. I agree. They made this trade for two reasons 1) to free up some cash and 2) to free up the 40 man. I don't know if the cost is in line with the benefit, but relievers appear to be a dime a dozen.
  7. just because games fall in a line, doesn't automatically make the ones at the end more important. I suppose it's all pretty subjective, but still
  8. That's some kind of logic. I'll put it this way, it may not be a "must" win situation, but it certainly puts more leverage on the rest of the games this season when they aren't playing a team in their division that is directly in front of them. Maybe not a must-win from the academic definition, but very important still. By your reckoning, the only must-win game is the one that eliminates them from the postseason. Make's sense.
  9. If a job happens to open up for him, maybe he'll seize the opportunity. Funnily enough, there is job open for him with the Chicago Cubs.
  10. it's best sometimes if you just do not respond. This is not a LaHair or a Colvin situation. He has more than 1.5 years of solid numbers at both AA and AAA. No matter how much you and your alter-ego want to put him in that box.
  11. damn it. I meant TN
  12. things are popping. Get Alcantara to SB.
  13. This is getting crazy. The Athletic is reporting that Pete Alonso is on the trade block. Would you give PCA back to them if you could work out an extension with Alonso?
  14. I’m going to go to bed and hope for a pleasant surprise when I wake up.
  15. Did the Cubs trade for Jose Cuas? And BTW, who is Jose Cuas?
  16. That video could be from 1978 and I wouldn’t know it.
  17. That's the beauty of a packed up, jacked up MiLB engine. They have about 3 or 4 Made's.
  18. And the answer is before the game!
  19. I liked Made, but that seems like a fair trade.
