  1. God damn it Im starting to believe.
  2. Don't count your chickens. I would not be surprised if in five years the college landscape looks a lot different than now. They could have tiered leagues and divisions with no conferences.
  3. I wish I could get into hockey. I used to love playing on the lake and watching games live when I was in college, but I can't get into it when I watch on TV.
  4. They met with Boras at the winter meetings and likely made a best offer, but it won't be in the ballpark. Looking back on it, if Cam Smith turns into something, it's a wet fart trade.
  5. Any owner could have given him that contract. The Cubs apparently weren't interested in doing that, if you believe published reports.
  6. Chris Morel was DFA by the Rays
  7. Yes, a generally ****** weekend of college football before the big Thanksgiving week matchups.
  8. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. You must be ecstatic with an 82-92 win team. You argue that they are good enough. My argument is that they are not good enough. 6th and 4th is quite an accomplishment.
  9. I don't think Jed and his team are totally incompetent, so I have to believe they factored in the possibility that Shota would take the offer. If this is true, it shouldn't stop them from their plans. In other words, I don't think they'd play chicken with $20M just for a compensation pick.
  10. "Were" is doing the work there and again, being the tallest four-footer is no great accomplishment.
  11. They have to get some slugging on this team from somewhere. Ideally, they'd probably like to get via OWNKC, but he's got a lot of K in his game. I don't really buy it until it happens, but it's good to hear they aren't shying away from the top of the pitching market. I'm not convinced that they can thread the needle and break out from a division contender to WS contender.
  12. According to something I read (not going to link, b/c the site is unreliable), the Cubs are inching closer to an extension with PCA in the neighborhood of $100M.
  13. It's fun to acknowledge the serendipity of these wins, but it's good to be on the other side for a bit. They should beat the Steelers and the Browns. The other games are a toss-up at best. I'm going to enjoy the moment.
  14. Young with a 300 yrd passing day
  15. I might be a little high and a little high on the Bears, but they finally dumbed themselves into a real coach. It’s coaching that changed this team.
  16. Exciting game to listen to. So much fun. They have Ron Santo Jrs at both pbp and color. Those two are so bad they’re awesome.
  17. They'd have to put him on a curfew, lol.
  18. That's been his pattern at every stop. They can't hold on to these guys forever without giving them a real opportunity at the major league level. If I'm choosing, I will take Alcantara over OWNKC.
  19. If Shota goes back to Japan do the Cubs still get a pick?
  20. They need a TOR pitcher and they need SLG. They are a team of role players who play great defense, but they are not an offensive juggernaut. Who is? In life, everything is relative, but being the tallest person under five feet is not a particularly notable accomplishment. If the price is right, I'd love to bring Cease and Schwarber back home. Cease will benefit greatly from Hottovy, and Kyle brings an edge and can swat home runs. That's where I'm at.
  21. This is a winable game. I think Caleb looks best when the pressure is on (not necessarily during specific plays, but close games). It will be a close game. Bears by 3- 34-31.
  22. If I could bet on the SB right now, I'd bet the Rams. That offense is too much.
  23. That's not that much of a flex. The reason is he holds the ball too long and would rather take a sack or scramble a run. Interceptions are obviously bad, but numbers without context mean nothing.
  24. What a block by Kmet
