Bullpen wear is often cumulative across an entire season. A day off isn't gonna change the fact that Marmol is on pace to enter the playoffs with 85 games under his belt already. that's because lou keeps using marmol in situations where the cubs are heavily favored to win. the dodgers were up to about 30% after the loney walk, and the leverage index was at 4. that's a proper time to put marmol into the game.

It is clear now to see that a well thought out network could start a sportschannel and really crunch ESPN. It has become such crap. don't be so sure. american idol and dancing with the stars are massive hits in this country. the average joe probably just prefers idiot tv.

ah, so the cubs are patient because they're veteran players. i seem to recall a lot of veteran-laden cub teams in the bottom quarter of the league in OBP.

bad news for joe torre - furcal isn't really as much of a "sparkplug" as you think. he looks like quite the sparkplug when he's OPS'ing over 1.000 and getting on base 45% of the time.
