i don't like bp's defensive statistics, but rivera's defense is largely irrelevant and berra is a 136 FRAA, which means their system likes him a whole lot. -

yogi's warp3 is just 7 higher than mo, and i'm assuming rivera may surpass berra in that category. most of the time an everyday player is going to be far more valuable than a closer, unless that closer is really really awesome, which rivera happens to be. -
