  1. patrick sharp has 20 goals??? i can't even be pissed off that we traded him away; he never would've gotten off our bottom two lines.
  2. I am still not completely convinced that Wade Phillips job safe. J Jones really likes Shanahan, and Shanahan loves Tony Romo. With all the talk in the locker room being that Phillips was too laid back and didn't have enough control, and rumors that Jones is becoming more upset about the loss now than he was a week ago. i'm not sure why one would get progressively more angry about losing by 38 points to your biggest rival in a "win and in" game. wouldn't you be at the height of your rage during the 3rd quarter at about the time that the eagles ran a second fumble back for a touchdown?
  3. So you like watching a Florida player hump a Georgia player for a couple seconds after tackling him? yeah that's pretty gay, meph. and on a side note, how on earth did that not get a taunting penalty? apparently florida paid the refs more that game. if you're not throwing a flag on that then just do away with the penalty altogether.
  4. what about OU's 2000 championship season 104.00 Florida St 99.88 Miami 99.35 Oklahoma 93.91 Nebraska 92.27 Va Tech and miami beat florida state that year.
  5. especially no. 2. by the way, if we had drafted wieters, wouldn't peavy be wearing a cub uniform right now? wouldn't wieters for peavy straight up be a pretty fair trade? Probably Weiters+ 2 prospects. you may be right that it would take more than a premium prospect to get peavy, but i suspect that if you look at future expected value of wieters versus peavy, it would be very close. especially since peavy is already expensive but wieters will be relatively cheap for years to come.
  6. this board desperately needs an illinois basketball thread.
  7. inside tip on OPS guys, it's a product of ability to get on base and ability to hit the ball with power.
  8. you guys should have waited until today to make your pick, it's a lot easier that way.

  10. The Cardinals are 0-5 in road games against teams outside of the western divisions. Just an FYI. One of them was a game we should've lost, and it was Boldin's first game back from his broken-face injury. That team scares the bejeezus out of me if I think about it too much. it's the playoffs, you don't get to play the lions and rams and then be in the super bowl. everyone has to play good teams; be glad that your team gets to play the worst team still playing.
  11. tarvaris jackson versus a jim johnson defense... no contest. we'll probably lose to the giants next week. carolina should be grateful, they have a lower seed than the giants but get an easier game.
  12. i feel like it's that episode of south park, and "keeper" is "bob's keeper" from the evil parallel universe.
  13. is this a slavery reference or something gay? either way, i do not approve.
  14. Looks like the guy, or his agent is dillusional. He'll get 12 mil/year tops. You know theres something wrong with the country when were in a financial crisis nationwide, meanwhile we have ballplayer haggling over an extra 4 mil like it's nothing. that's when you know there's something wrong with the country? and if the guy thinks he's worth 33% more than he's being offered, more power to him for going after that. if you're getting offered 30 grand and you think you're worth 40 grand, are you just going to accept the deal?
  15. i highly doubt that's the problem or anywhere close to being true, unless he's been going blind.
  16. lol yeah right the NFL is a fickle game you think the chargers are going to dump a very good running back who's the face of the franchise because his 5'6" backup had a good game and is now ready to be a feature back carrying the ball 250+ times? get real. If he's expensive and not good? yes. there's a big difference between "no longer the awesomest player in the nfl" and "not good." although i guess if you watched just this game, when he had a detached tendon, you might get the impression that he's now a lousy football player. the seahawks didn't dump shawn alexander in the first season that he began to show a decline. the cowboys didn't do it with emmitt smith, the jets didn't do it with curtis martin, the bears with walter payton (who got really good again after an injury-plagued year), the steelers with jerome bettis, etc. nfl teams don't just can their star players and the face of the franchise because they're starting to show signs of age. plus, if you think that tomlinson is starting to look beat up at the end of a season, wait til you see darren sproles after 300+ carries and returning punts and kickoffs. he might not even be 5 feet tall after all that.

I'm just saying RB's fall off the cliff pretty fast once they start getting injured. See: Shaun Alexander well then say that RB's fall off the cliff pretty fast once they start getting injured. don't say "good luck with your new team next year, LT", which makes it seems like you're suggesting that LT will be playing for a new team next year, which he won't although i guess "next year" is 2010 and it's conceivable that they could dump him after next season, so maybe you've inadvertently made a plausible suggestion.

  19. northwestern has lost their first two big ten games and been outrebounded by 40-23 in each. something tells me that they're not as good as the computers thought.
  20. lol yeah right
