  1. too bad illinois doesn't have medicinal marijuana, that'd clear the oblique problem right up.
  2. nobody is ever taken in context.
  3. the glove barely missed jeter's hand, it's not an awful call. it's only an awful call if you're sitting at home on the computer watching the replay in slow motion 10 times.
  4. Well clearly and I'm pretty sure I implied that pretty heavily in my post. What I'm saying, though, is that because it was jeter. Do you guys think that the ump will actually be reprimanded for this as he should be? it depends on whether he said what jeter claims he said. if he did then he'll be reprimanded and probably asked to read the rule book again. if he didn't say it then they won't reprimand him because MLB would be awful busy calling every umpire for every blown call they make.
  5. if they'd stop using marshall like idiots, the "lack" of bullpen depth wouldn't be a problem. samardzija, hart and marshall can each pitch 3-5 innings in a game.
  6. Proven wrong? not really, but your point is a valid one. jackson will draw walks, probably twice as many as colvin. patience really isn't a weakness of his... he strikes out too much though.
  7. am i the only one who finds the sedin twins to be incredibly annoying? they wanted NHL teams to draft them together, they've played on the same line their entire careers, and they just signed the same contract. i know you're identical twins but God, develop your own persona.
  8. it was probably a strike, but if the umpire hasn't been giving the high strike and the batter does a good job of selling it, it's certainly an understandable call. macha set this up to happen by walking soto. i hate the move of walking the bases loaded there unless you're getting a big difference between the two hitters. i'd rather not have a force out (plus it's geo running, you can probably throw him out at first on an IF ground ball) than walk the bases loaded and lose the game on a walk or HBP.
  9. went to the phillies-mets game tonight. livan hernandez was a gas can (even paul bako roped a double off him) and rodrigo lopez randomly had a nice start for the phillies. it's always nice to see the mets get their asses kicked.
  10. from what i can see, all the good teams are getting the good players, and the middle to bottom of the league is left with the sloppy seconds.
  11. carpenter may have been a fantastic third round steal.
  12. Fantastic, now we have to put up with Phil Rodgers and Mariotti. Let's just bring up in Skip Bayless and Steven A Smith to complete the idiot quartet. you forgot paul sullivan.
  13. is this going to be posted every time he successfully gobbles up a routine ground ball?
  14. cameron hit .153 with 1 HR in june. wtf.
  15. 5 years, 37.5M for gaborik could be horrible. the flyers' main move was pronger so they've been predictably quiet in free agency. knuble was always going to leave because we couldn't afford him.
  16. i knew tiger was a cash cow but i didn't think mickelson made nearly that much.
  17. apparently i was too good at picking which pitchers would suck ass, since both of my picks (snell, danny cabrera) have been farmed out.
